2019 Polls: Voters Groans Over Delay Of Voting Processes

Electorates in some of the polling units in the in the federal capital territory expressed their disappointment over the processes of the election which have subjected many of them to different agony.
Though, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday assured Nigerians and the international community that it has concluded arrangements to commence elections by 8. a.m. on Saturday but reports so far revealed that voting Commenced in some Units 9:10 and some is yet to start as at 10am.
In the City Center of Area 2 Units 007, 006 and 010, Voters were seen littered around the premises since 6:00 AM could not exercise their franchise until 9:20 AM due to some hitches on the part of INEC
The problem ranges from failure on the part of card readers, disagreement between party agents, late arriver of election officials as well as the inability of the voters to listen and obey the simple instruction.
At Unit 007  of same Area 2, Mr Uche Obinna frowned at the process, saying: “I am not happy with the process, we should have improved on the process, can you imagine we are here on the queues for almost three hours before we can vote.
“I don’t think we are growing in terms of the preparation and plan what a country called Nigeria? When are we going to get it right in this country? He asked.
As for the Units 004, the situation is the same as voters were eager to cast their vote with the delay or not.
Speaking with The Gleamer News  Mrs Ekeate Bassey, said the process is not encouraging but if they like, let them delay the voting commencement till evening, I will be on the queues to vote. I came here with my water and food. They don’t want us to vote but as for me I have determined to vote.” She said
On getting to Area 7 that housed Units 015, 016, 018 and 019 at 9:20 the situation is the same as voters were patiently on the queues awaiting the commencement of voting exercise.
As at the time of filling this reports there were no cases of violence I any of the units mentioned.
