C/Wealth Games: First Batch of Nigeria contingents arrive Gold Coast

The first batch of Nigeria contingent for the 2018 Commonwealth Games billed for 4th -15th of April have arrived city of Gold Coast, Australia.
It was gathered that, first batch of Athletes and coaches for Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Gymnastics, Para Athletics, Para Power lifting, Para Table Tennis, Table Tennis and Weightlifting totalling 56 athletes and 22 coaches have arrived the Host city.
It will be recalled that an advance team of officials from the country’s ministry departed Nigeria on March 18th to attend the Delegates’ Registration Meeting due to hold on March 22nd.
The second batch which will consist of athletes and coaches from Wrestling and Athletics Federations will leave on April 2nd. The Para powerlifting team has three World Record holders and three Paralympians
Many athletes while traveling promised not to disappoint Nigeria but would do everything within their possible best to ensure Nigeria record more success.
On his own, a World Champion in Para Sports Paul Kehinde, expressed disclosed his intentions to set another World Record at the Powerlifting event in Gold Coast.
While, Para Table Tennis player, Faith Bazuaye said her aim is to be amongst those who will return to the country with a medal.
