Flying Eagles, Mavlon FC Share Spoils in Exciting Four-Goal Friendly

The quality of football by Mavlon FC of Lagos was on display when the team came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Flying Eagles in a thrilling friendly game played at the FIFA goal project, Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.

It was a game that truly defined a stiff test game for the Flying Eagles from the blast of the whistle when both sides traded tackles and passed on the pitch with strong intensity and quick transitions depicting an end to end attacking forays, that put both goal keepers in action.

However, Flying Eagles under the able tutelage of Aliyu Zubairu went ahead after the hour mark when Marvellous Freedom slotted the ball into the net, as the team preparing for the FIFA U20 World Cup ended the first half with a goal advantage.

Early in the second half saw the Flying Eagles increased their lead through AbdulBasit Abubakar, who clinically struck the ball into the net.

Flying Eagles were in cruise control it appeared, but enterprising Mavlon players were unfazed, they intensified their efforts, which eventually came when the referee awarded a penalty against Flying Eagles and it was beautifully converted into the net by Sunday Emmanuel to make it 2-1.

The goal conceded brought out a renewed vigour from the Flying Eagles. The team launched attacking on the defence of Mavlon FC, but met strong resistance in the defence marshalled by Muntari Momoh and his co- defenders.

As time progresses in the game, a quick counter attack by Mavlon that had the football imprint of world class from Ibrahim Muhammed Beji found Abah Emmanuel, who darted into the box of Flying Eagles and unleashed a ferocious shot that hit the roof of the net to make it 2-2 few minutes into the game.

There was no denying the fact that the friendly game had the signature of top-notch football from both teams to the delight of fans that watched it on Saturday morning.
