Musa Brace Gives Hope For Nigeria To Progress At World Cup

A second-half brilliant brace from Ahmed Musa was enough for Nigeria’s Super eagles to beat Iceland 2-0 at the Volgograd Arena to give hope to progress at the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
Musa scored in the 49th minutes of encounter after he recieved a pass from Victor Moses which he waste no time to control and fire a powerful shot which Iceland goal keeper have no answer to thereby put Nigeria ahead 1-0.
He doubled the lead in the 75th minutes when he received a long pass from Nigeria defender to dribbled both the defender and goalkeeper before placing a brilliant shot to found the back of the net a goal that spark wild celebrations to extend the lead 2-0
Iceland had the chance to get back into the game when the involvement of VAR saw a penalty given with just nine minutes left on the clock.
But Gylfi Sigurdsson could not convert it sent his spot-kick sailing over the bar to leave Iceland needing a win over Croatia in their final group game to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
Meanwhile, Croatia who humiliated Argentina yesterday was sitting comfortably on topping the table with 6points having secure qualifications to the next round.
Nigeria super eagles are on the second with 3 points, Iceland in the third position with one point while Argentina took the back seat with one point having concede more goals than Iceland.
With this table all the three teams have chance of qualify for the next round base on the result of the last group games come next week.
