The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Thursday evening Garoua, in Cameroon had their first training ahead of their explosive group opener against seven-time champions Pharaoh’s of Egypt at the Stade Roumdé Adjia, venue of their Group D games.

Eagles arrived in Cameroon for the 33rd AFCON, aboard an Air Peace jet, at 11.05 pm on Wednesday with 25 players and officials and The Gleamer sports gathered that the team settle down quickly and set for another podium appearance.

Meanwhile, the Fc Nantes of France winger, Moses Simon, believes that the Super Eagles team can spring surprises in AFCON if the team is resolute.

“I desire to win the trophy as a player. We came close last edition but we were unlucky, but with collective efforts now, we can make it happen. We need to put more effort in AFCON and an element of luck can put smiles in the faces of Nigerians.”

Amongst the prominent Nigerians gearing the team to conquer Africa is Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, High Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, JP, encouraged the team to soar high and bring back the cup to Nigeria.

Ejidike noted that with the government support and prayers of every Nigerian, the team would make the country proud.

On his part, President of Nigeria Basketball Federation Caretaker Chairman, Engr. Musa Kida reiterated his age-long belief that Nigeria is blessed with youthful and abundant talents that can rule the world of sports.

Kida, who started his sports career as a goalkeeper in his early days, is enthused that the Eagles are good enough to win the cup in Cameroon.

Kida praised the government for the support the team has so far received, going into the championship.

Nigeria who placed third at the AFCON 2019 held in Egypt, is set to begin its challenge for the cup on January 11, against Egypt.

NPFL Strikes ₦2.14 Billion Exclusive Broadcast and Data Management Deal to Drive Modernization and Expand Visibility

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has sealed a landmark ₦2.14 billion Exclusive Broadcast and Data Management Agreement designed to modernize league operations, enhance transparency, and elevate the league’s global profile.


The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday at the Continental Hotel in Abuja, with NPFL Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, leading the league’s delegation.


 The agreement formalizes strategic partnerships with Inview Technologies Nigeria Limited, AS Production Hub Limited (ASPH), and Roundup Technologies Limited.


Under the terms of the deal, Inview Technologies Nigeria Limited will serve as a principal partner over a five-year period, investing a total of ₦2 billion, including an ₦800 million upfront payment to the NPFL.


 In addition, Roundup Technologies Limited has entered into a ₦140 million agreement, bringing the combined value of both deals to ₦2.14 billion over five years.


The partnership covers exclusive broadcast, data management, and commercialization rights, all aimed at transforming the NPFL’s digital infrastructure and operational efficiency.


Through this collaboration, the league’s technology partners will deploy cutting-edge systems for data collection, analytics, and digital operations. These innovations are expected to enhance match reporting, performance tracking, player statistics, and club management, while improving fan engagement and ensuring greater transparency across all league activities.


While speaking, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye hailed the agreement as “a major milestone in the NPFL’s mission to modernize its operations and position Nigerian football among the best-managed leagues globally.”
