2022 AITEO Cup: Kogi United FC target to win trophy in National FA Cup



Abdulmalik Isah, the chairman of Kogi United Football Club on Saturday in Abuja said his team will win all their games in the ongoing national Federation Cup.

The chairman said the team target is to lift the trophy as champion of 2022 Aiteo Cup national competition.

Kogi United FC defeated Mighty Jets FC of Jos 3-2 in the round of 64 of the ongoing 2022 Aiteo Cup national competition at the FIFA goal project of the Moshood Abiola National in Abuja.

He said both team displayed a wonderful performance in the match.

“The two team played well but the better team have the day.

“We thank our Governor Yahaya Bello,the Dynamic Governor who have been supporting the team which is the secret behind the success today.

“I’m tagerting final match for the FA cup, football is all about tactics, my caoch will do the needful to make sure that we win all the game and lift up the trophy as champion,”he said

While commenting on one of his players who collapse during the match, the chairman said he was happy to see the player jacked back to life

“I was afraid when one of my players collapse on the filed, I was happy to see him jacked back to life.

“Thanks to the medical team for the work well done,” he said

It was a lucky day for Kogi United FC.

Omojagwu Umoru ok Kogi United FC who was on reserve in the list collapse during the second half of the match.

He was immediately rescusistated back to life with the support of medial team to show their competent in the job.

The medical team who was on ground for the match, did their job by using resuscitating machine to bring Umoru back to life and was transported to the nearest hospital.

The process took seven minutes in which the match was stop by the referee. Seven minutes extract time was added to 90 minutes of play to make it 90 plus seven minutes extract time.

The two teams are currently playing in the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League (NNL).

Volleyball: Nigeria U21 targets 2023 FIVB World Championship ticket- Mohammed



The Head Coach of Nigeria U21 Men’s Volleyball Team, Sani Mohammed revealed that the country’s aim at the African U21 Nations Championship is to qualify for the 2023 FIVB U21 Men’s World Championship.

Mohammed stated this during a press briefing with journalists at Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) in Kaduna on Friday.

The African U21 Men’s Nations Championship is scheduled for 13th to 23rd August, 2022

He said the technical crew has studied the technicalities other teams especially the North Africa adding that other teams should be wary of Nigeria.

The former National setter said, “We were African U19 Champions and these set of boys attended the FIVB U19 Boys Championship. The boys have graduated to the U21 Men’s category and our target is to qualify for the FIVB U21 Men’s World Championship.

“The team is prepared, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod and his board members have tried their best; it is left for the players and coaches to do their best in Tunisia.”

“The technical crew have been studying the teams that will participate in the tournament because we do not sleep; other teams are wary of our current squad and development.

“We beam our search light on the host; Tunisia and other North African Nations. They feel the U21 is their birthright but this is an opportunity to let the World know we are equally good. Every team has their own strategy and when we meet on the court, the result will show our level of preparedness,” he added.

Meanwhile, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod charged the players to be good ambassadors.

Nimrod said the current board members of Nigeria Volleyball Federation are solidly behind the team predicting podium finish for the former African U19 Champions.

The National U21 team departed the country on Friday (11:45pm) at the Nnamadi Azikiwe Airport to Tunisia.
