2023 All Stars Football Tournament: Abuja All Star tackles Lugbe FC in opening game Tomorrow

All roads lead to Moshood Abiola National Stadium, on Saturday, in the Nigeria’s Capital City as the All Stars internation football club of Abuja will slug it out with their counterpart, All Stars Lugbe, in the opening Game of 2023 Edition of All Stars football invitational Tournament.
16 teams composed of veterans footballers, coaches, past veterans, will tackle each other in the three months mouth-watering tournament inside the prestigious main bowl of Moshood Abiola National Stadium Package, from July 15th 2023 to September 2023, every Saturday.
It will be recalled that, the draw ceremony for the tournament was held at Moshood Abiola National Stadium in the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday, as the defending champions, All Stars Abuja will play Lugbe All Stars in the opening game of the tourney.
The 16 teams were grouped into 4 groups:
Group A: Nyanya All Stars, Likeminds All Star football club of Kuje, Gwagwalada All Star FC, and Ex professional players.
In group B: the corporate kicker sports club CKSC, Jabi All Stars, MC Steve FC and CC FC old timers Gwagwalada.
Group C: All Stars International Football Club, Lugbe All Stars, Games Villages FC and Capital Sportif.
Group D: Unity Sports Foundation, Apo fitness Football Club, Kuje All Stars and Selected All Stars.
Speaking ahead of the Game, All Star Abuja player and the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee LOC, Desmond Ikwuje, said his team has been working so hard to ensure victory in the tournament for the third times in a row.
“We are defending champion, and we have won it back to back no doubt, and we hope to win the trophy again, we are fully prepared for the tournament.” He said.

Nigeria Customs Service Embarks on Training Tour

As part of preparations for the 2025 African Women’s Club Championship, the Nigeria Customs Service women’s volleyball team has embarked on a training tour in Benin Republic.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from April 1 to 14 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The team departed for Benin Republic on Wednesday.
The Sports Secretary of the Nigeria Customs Service, Samuel Onikeku, appreciated the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and his management team for approving the training tour.
He emphasised that the tour would allow the players and coaching crew to assess their level of preparedness for the upcoming championship.
Onikeku expressed confidence in the team’s potential to make a strong impression at the tournament, citing the support received from the Federal Government of Nigeria, particularly through the First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON.
He said, “The volleyball team has traveled to Benin Republic for a 10-day training tour. The players have been in camp since February, and this tour will provide them with an opportunity to compete against teams outside the country.
“I want to appreciate the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and his management team for approving this training tour.
“During the training tour, Nigeria Customs Service will take on strong opponents from Benin Republic, Ghana and Togo.
“The support we received from Nigeria’s First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, has been tremendous, and the team is committed to making the country proud.”
He said the service is determined to better their position after finishing fourth place in 2021.
