2023: Yakubu joins presidential race

Ahead of the 2023 general election, A professional project Engineer and Manager, an International Energy Transformation Leader across multiple countries, ENGR. Yakubu Mohammed has formally declared his ambition to run for the presidency.
In a press briefing on Monday, May 2nd in Abuja, Yakubu made this declaration with the theme “New Dawn Movement”.
The Edo state born technocrat and former staff of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is aspiring to be the president of the country under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Yakubu in his statement during the meeting with the press said that “I want to rescue Nigeria from her present predicament and bring her back to what it should be, adding that he has over the years since 2012 working on the development plan for the country.
“I am running because I have a great concern about the course of event in the country – increasing inflation, unemployment, insecurity and growing infrastructure deficit, couple with our inability to produce what to consume as a nation.
“With the plethora of challenges facing our nation, we need to highlight the absolute baselines necessary to restart our posterity engine.
“We must with urgency pay attention to these 7 agenda points; Institutional Reforms to promote growth and enhance security, Economic Reforms with stable macros, Agricultural Economy and Rural Revolution.
“Others are, Infrastructure Capacity Optimisation, Adopting Relevant Technologies to leapfrog Governance Challenges, Social Reengineering with Education and lifelong learning as Springboard and National Social Partnership – a multi year programme for prosperity and fairness.”
Yakubu explained that to bring all these to reality, is to capture the needed resources, to successfully execute the strategic objectives.
He said, despite the deep financial crisis in the country which arises out of the inability to position the economy and the golden goose oil and gas industry that he will work night and day to change the dilemma.
He therefore sought prayers and support from the people for a successful declaration ceremony, victory at the party primaries and the 2023 presidential election.

Gov Monday Okpebholo Approves Establishment Of Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission

The Edo State Government wishes to inform the general public that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the establishment of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government Umar Musa Ikhilor states that, the Commission is conceived as the central regulatory body for all lottery, gaming, and related activities within the State. Its primary objectives are to: Provide a legal and institutional framework for regulating lottery and gaming operations in Edo State.
Ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in the conduct of lottery activities. Safeguard the interests of participants and the general public by enforcing fair play and responsible gaming standards. Generate revenue for the State through well-structured licensing and regulation of gaming operators.
In furtherance of this, His Excellency has approved the appointment of the following individuals to pioneer the affairs of the Commission: Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye – Chairman, Dandy Imoukhuede Oserei- Member, Elvis Uadiale – Member, Ndidi Aghimien – Member and Hon. Habibat Yakubu – Secretary
The names of the above-nominated individuals will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to creating a well-regulated gaming industry that protects consumers, enhances investor confidence, and contributes to the socio-economic development of Edo State.
