8th Dreamland/Embassy Of Hungary U-19 Cup: Dreamland Academy, Jamba, Goddosky, Jazzy Stars Battle For Final Ticket

Dreamland Football Academy of Abia State, Jamba Football Club of Kaduna State and Goddosky Football Club of Anambra State have all qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing 8th edition of the Dreamland/Embassy of Hungary U-19 Cup Competition in Abuja.

The trio waited till the last day of the group matches on Friday to confirm their passages into the last four where Jazzy Stars have been waiting since picking their ticking on Matchday 2 on Thursday.

The four team will this Saturday battle for the final ticket.

In the last group matches played on Friday at the Turf Arena, River Plate Garden, Central Business District, Abuja; Dreamland Academy defeated Jamba FC by a lone goal to confirm their passage into the last four.

The only goal of the match was scored in the second half by James Osinachi.

The win took the Abia State lads to the summit of Group A with 7 points while Jamba also qualified for the semi-finals as best loser with 6 points.

Goddosky FC secured their passage into the last four after grinding out a goalless draw with high flying MTA FC from Enugu State.

Goddosky topped Group B with 5 points after winning one and drawing two other matches.

The semi-final matches will be played today at the same venue with Dreamland battling Goddosky in the first semi-final match by 3:30pm.

The second match of the day which will start by 4:45pm will be between Jazzy Stars and Jamba FC.

The winners of the matches will qualify for the final of the competition which will be played on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the same venue.

Galadima Football Club of Abuja were the defending champions of the 7th edition of the tournament but they did not return to defend their crown.

Aside the final and cup to be won, talented but exceptional players would be selected by European scouts who have been on ground from day one to scout players from the competition.

Dreamland/Embassy of Hungary U-19 Cup Competition has been grooming and nurturing talented Nigerian footballers since 2013 many of whom have gone ahead to sign professional careers with various clubs in Europe.
