COVID-19: Foundation donates 1000 units of consumables to Lagos Health Service Commission
Joshua Okeowo Foundation has donated 1000 units of food consumables to the Lagos State Health Service Commission to support health workers in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Receiving the donation on behave of the Commission on Tuesday the Director, Human Resources and Administration, Mr. Phillip Dosunmu, expressed gratitude for the benevolent gesture exhibited towards front liners in line of duty.
Dosumu said “This move by Joshua Okeowo foundation, is a laudable one at encouraging our front liners across our 27 Public Health Facilities, on an commendable feat of excellent servitude.
” On behalf of the Management and Staff of this formidable agency, I sincerely thank the initiators of this considerable innovation, even as we encourage spirited Nigerians to emulate such gesture”.
The lead consultant of the Foundation, Dr. Lara Oyadotun, said that the initiative was part of the three projects which the foundation projected towards public empowerment.
“This initiative is intended to encourage frontliners who have earnestly supported in curbing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, within the state.
“It could only be imperative to have such presentation via Lagos State Health Service Commission in effecting this purpose.
Following this gesture, would be a review which we could definitely want to reconsider in near future at ensuring more worthwhile donations
“We would particularly want to foster the relationship we have with these healthcare providers in future ,by doing more of such contributions” she said.

NSC DG Olopade Meets NSC Directors, Calls for Scientific Approach to Sports Federation Activities

The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has reiterated the new transformative vision of the Commission during his meeting with the Directors and Heads of Departments of the Commission.
The interactive sessions allowed senior officials to introduce themselves to the new DG, who emphasized the importance of strategic, standardized and scientific approach to the Commission’s operations, including the conduct of Sports Federation Elections.
In his remarks, Olopade stressed the need for reforms that would attract top administrators to vie for leadership roles within Nigeria’s Sports Federations.
“There is no way we can’t be looking at having top industry CEOs on board in our Sports Federations,” he stated.
The DG also highlighted the Commission’s mandate to elevate the Corporate image of various Sports in Nigeria.
He reemphasized the NSC’s commitment to reviving key initiatives such as the National Sports Industry Policy and the 10-Year Football Master Plan.
“The Chairman and myself strongly believe we need to have a different approach to our Federation Elections,” he noted.
“This is why the emphasis of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a balanced approach to both sports consumption and sports production.”
The meeting reflects the new direction of the NSC, with Olopade pledging to champion and support policies that will foster professionalism and sustainable development across Nigeria’s sports landscape.
