Fuel Scarcity Increases FCT Residents’ Suffering

No one needs a soothsayer to cast an oracle that Nigeria, as a nation is facing serious challenges as Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is faced with long queues, as most fuel stations were under the Lock and Key.
Few days after normalcy return to FCT, as a result of the #ENDSARS protest, Abuja, Lagos, and other cities which took an unexpected turn and gave room for hoodlums to loot stores and malls thereby wreaking havoc on many businesses.
Most fuel stations in central Area, Area, and Zone six sides that belong to the major marketers as well as independent marketers were under lock and the black market has visibly returned to FCT.
Petrol queues surfaced in parts of Abuja on Monday evening and intensified on Tuesday morning
The Gleamer Online News who moved around reported, Empty Street in major roads of the federal capital territory as a result of fuel scarcity that hit the city.
The cost of transportation is high while many residents were seen trekking kilometers to reach their offices and place their businesses.
The report has it that the vandalism of petrol trucks by angry protesters forced oil marketers to temporarily suspend the movement of petroleum products, a development that warranted disruptions in supply.
Reacting to the queues that surfaced in Abuja and neighboring states on Tuesday morning, the NNPC said in a tweet that there was no need for panic
It said, “There is no need for panic-buying, rest assured that the NNPC has over two billion liters of Premium Motor Spirit in stock to guarantee steady supply and at least 60-day-product supply sufficiency.”

CSO Salutes Trump
A Civil Society Organization (CSO) under the aegis of Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) has congratulated President Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States of America.
Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President of the CSO said this in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja on Monday.
He expressed optimism over improvement on not just American economy but global economy with the inauguration of Trump.
“This is a man with greater vision of making environment around him great.
“In less than few hours of his inauguration, TikTok is back into existence, this shows how he is going to revive the world economy,” he said.
The ILDC boss who reiterated his confidence in Trump’s Presidency, described him as a man of clues and ideas to drive a stable America and the world at large.
He lauded Trump’s collaboration with global entrepreneurs like Elon Musk in an effort to revitalize America’s economy.
According to him, men and women of ideas flock together, they work together for better society and this is what Trump is doing.
Recall that Donald Trump became the 47th President of the U.S by polling 312 electoral votes Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226 votes in Nov, 2024.
Following the oath of office, Trump will address the nation before he is expected to parade across town to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening
About 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the presidential transfer of power.
