Nigeria’s Umar Sadiq continued his good form in front of the goal as he scored a powerful header for his Almeria to secure a 3-1 win over Castellon on Saturday evening in Spain.

Sadiq Umar scored 19 goals in all competitions at the Segunda division in Spain taken his club to 45 points behind the leader Mallorca who has 48 with a match at hand.

Jose Corpas put Almeria ahead in the 26th minutes of the encounter as Castellon’s Ruben Diez equalized in the 61st to make 1-1

17th minutes after, the 23-year-old lanky striker Sadiq Umar scored a delightful goal with a powerful header in the 78th minutes to restored the 2-1 lead before his teammate Jorge Cuenca buried the game in the 80th minutes to make it 3-1

The Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Umar will be at home welcoming Sevilla in the Copa del-ray quarter-final come Tuesday 2nd February 2021.

Speaking shortly after the match, Umar expressed said hard work pays and he will keep on working hard to score more goals.

According to him “I thank God, I feel great, am blessed, it’s not easy, in the last four games I scored 6 goals hard work pays, I will keep on working and see what we happen at the end of the season, how far I will reach but for now I thank God, every is going well I will keep on working hard.” he said.

President Tinubu Decries Violence In Rivers, Directs Police To Provide Security To LGA Offices

President Bola Tinubu has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara, political leaders and their supporters in Rivers State to exercise restraint and uphold the rule of law.

In response to recent tensions following last Saturday’s local government council election, the President expressed deep concern over reports of arson and explosions in the state.

He urged all political actors to de-escalate the situation and discourage their supporters from engaging in violence or destructive actions.

President Tinubu directed the police to restore and maintain peace, law, and order immediately.

While instructing law enforcement agencies to bring the situation under control, he emphasised the need to ensure the security of public institutions.

President Tinubu said government facilities built with public funds must be safeguarded from vandalism.

He stressed that self-help has no place in a democratic system, especially after 25 years of continuous democracy.

According to President Tinubu, the judiciary can settle all political disputes, and the outcome of this election should be no exception.
