Angry Fans Call For Sack Of Abia Angels Management

Football fans in Umuahia have called on the government of Abia state to make haste to save the State of further ridicule from the Managers of its only Women team, Abia Angels FC.

The team which is struggling in the 2021 Nigeria Women Professional League was on Wednesday held to a goalless draw by the visiting Delta Queens at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The fans were left disappointed not because of the performance of the girls in the match, but the welfare of the team during, and after the match. The team was caught been convey to the match venue with a rickety vehicle with some of the girls seating on top of the vehicle. This, they said was not only risky to the lives of the young girls, many of whom have not been paid for months, but a ridiculous to the state government who has been encouraging four clubs in various leagues.

Every attempt to reach the Chairman of the Club Rowland Gbaruko on his mobile lines proved abortive as they were not reachable. The fans called on the management to make haste to reconstitute the management of the team, to save it of further embarrassments.

The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, has extended warm Sallah greetings to Muslims across the country as they celebrate Sallah


In a statement issued on Thursday by Ogwa Vivian Onyedibia, Senior Assistant on Media to the AUDA-NEPAD CEO, Hon. Abdullahi urged Nigerians to embrace the core values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion that define the season.


He emphasized that these principles are essential not only to the spiritual significance of the celebration but also to national development and peaceful coexistence.


“Eid is a time for reflection, sacrifice, and togetherness. As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to building a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

Hon. Abdullahi expressed hope that the celebration would inspire a collective spirit among Nigerians and strengthen the bonds of love, empathy, and patriotism across communities.


He wished all Muslim faithful a joyous and fulfilling celebration, praying for continued peace and blessings upon the nation.
