SWAN FCT Election: NUJ Suspended Ndubueze Chidoka For Insubordination,
The Nigeria union of Journalists (FCT chapter) have suspended factional chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, FCT Chapter, Mr Ndubueze Chidoka from its Executive Committee.
The suspension from his seat followed investigation which revealed that he breached election protocols during the June 4th Election.
The NUJ board suspended Chidoka with immediate effect as the representative of sports writers association body in FCT.
Mr Chidoka, it could be recalled was purportedly reflected as a factional SWAN FCT Chairman in a kangaroo election on June 4, 2021 held at a hotel in Katanmpe (Abuja).
Chidoka and his adherent went in violation of NUJ rules and refused to participate in the election conducted at the FCT NUJ Secretariat, Abuja.
In the election conducted, Comrade Bunmi Haruna was elected new SWAN Chairman for the next three years.
“NUJ FCT Chapter acknowledge that, following an investigation, there was a breach of election guidelines during the just concluded FCT election by the former FCT SWAN chairman,” NUJ statement read.
“The NUJ have suspended Mr Chidoka with immediate effect.”
Comrade Bunmi Haruna who won the FCT SWAN election will now replace the embattled former FCT SWAN chairman on the Nuj Executive Committee seat in the FCT.

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.
Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.
“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”
Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.
“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.
Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
