The newly elected South-South representative in the Nigeria Volleyball Federation NVF Mr Hon Famous Daunemigha has vowed to leave no stone unturned toward nurturing of more talents in the region.
He stated this in Ilorin, Kwara state at the ongoing 6th National Youth Games when Delta state defeated Lagos state in the female final of volleyball.
South-South state Delta state defeated Lagos state 3-1 in fierce competition.
Reacting to the victory, Mr Daunemigha expressed that he was pleased with arrays of talent in the region and would do all within his reach to nurture more talent in the region.
According to him, I have just been welcome to victory, the winning is a victory for me, it means we can actually nurture more talent.
“I watched the game, I saw a lot of talent from both side, for me its a victory for South-South and it victory for volleyball, I am very happy the good job done in the region has manifested to victory, I am very delighted”
He, however promised to buy canverses for the two young players for them to have tools to play: “if you look at them they very young but not properly dressed I believe the gesture will spur them to more and better performances.”
Speaking on his plan to develop the game in the region, Mr Daunemighasaid: “In the next two weeks, we are going to have a meeting with all volleyball stakeholders in South South, we want to start quarterly tournament in the region, so by the time my tenure finishes, we would have a lot of volleyball activities in the region “

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.
Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.
“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”
Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.
“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.
Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
