FG To stage Roadshow for Nigeria Versus Ghana game

In its determination to intimate the populace, especially football fans across the length and breadth of the nation’s capital, the federal government will embark on a roadshow to intimate Nigerian on the need for fans to come to the stadium to cheer the super eagles during the second leg of 2022 world cup qualifiers with Ghana.

speaking on Tuesday, in Abuja the member of the committee and Media aid to the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, Mr. Kola Daniel said the committee has perfected plans to ensure buses are available to convey fans from the nook and crannies of Abuja and its environs. 

According to him, there is going to be a roadshow to the intimate general public about the match, all information you need to know about the match, all information you need to know will be on that roadshow, the roadshow will start from Saturday to Monday.

“We are even appealing to the federal government to declare Tuesday half a free working day to allow FCT residents to come and support the super eagles.

“it’s a must-win match, 30, 000 fans are expected, we want to rekindle the rivalry with Ghana.”

Meanwhile, the Black Stars, four-time African champions, will host perennial rival, Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on March 25 before traveling to Abuja for the second leg at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on March 29, 2022.

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.

Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.

“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”

Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.

“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.

Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
