No fewer than 1000 golfers across the world will take part in this year’s IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja captain cup in Nigeria’s capital city.

The tournament slated for 18th -21st of April is expected to feature over 1000 professional golfers across the length and breadth of the country.

While speaking on the level of preparedness for the championship on Friday in Abuja, the Captain of the Club, Senator Emmanuel Anosike said that everything is in place to host a successful tournament.

According to him, it’s a tournament a captain does at the end of the tenure, it’s a tenure end tournament, it’s going to be massive because we are expecting about 1000 golfers from about 14 countries to come to Abuja.

“We are going to play a very wide professional tournament and by the grace of God, the winner of that tournament will go home with a car.

“All the captains of major golf clubs in Nigeria and lady’s captains and members of their clubs are also going to be part of this tournament.

“The special thing about this game is that there will not be any qualifiers, any golfers that are members of IBB golf and country club will participate in the tournament so it’s a very wide tournament.

“We want to use this tournament to showcase the level of golfing in the IBB that it has come to stay and tennis, in particular, we are going to use every available social angle in this tournament.”

He appreciated all the partners for their support while he called on business owners, corporate bodies, and well-meaning individuals who will like to be part of the event to showcase their business, saying it’s going to be a win-win at end of the event.
