Envoy Applauds TIG club For Gymnastics Talent Hunt Grassroots Initiative

British High Commissioner to Nigeria Catriona Laing has commended Tony International Gymnastics (TIG) for organizing the grassroots competition.
TIG in collaboration with the French international school organized a ‘Gymnastics/Ballet talents hunt’ competition for ages 3 to 12 years at the French International School in Abuja.
Laing said that she was impressed to see kids in their different performances in gymnastics.
According to her, I’m really amazed by the standard of talent here. Fantastic performance and it’s really nice to see and watched the kid’s performance.
“it’s a combination of raw talent and the resources you put into it couple with the dedication of the coaches and my daughter is also performing this very impressive competition.
” It’s very good, sports (Gymnastics) and encouraging talent to build up and grow But like all sports, you need resources in order to reach the highest level.
“I think it’s a combination of scouting for talent, encouraging children to stick with it, some children get to a certain age and other distractions come in,” she said
She said that parents need to encourage them (children) to continue in sports activities in other to breed success in sports.
“The more they see other children performing in competitions and succeeding, the more that will inspire other children to come out to compete.
“This type of Competition will help to discover raw talent, to scout for athletes that will compete in Olympic standard of competition, “she said
Speaking on his part the headmaster of the French International School Abuja, Alain Chassard, said is impressed to see the large number of students participating in the competition.

From Streets to Stardom: Unique Futbol Academy Scouting Program Inspires Ibadan’s Young Footballers
Ibadan is buzzing with excitement as the Unique Football Academy Scouting Program kicks off, bringing together top European football clubs and talented young Nigerian players.
The four-day program, which commenced on Monday, features a delegation of four directors from prominent European teams, including two from Kosovo and one from India, led by renowned football agent Diego Martins from Portugal.
The scouting program aims to identify and select outstanding players who will be given opportunities to showcase their skills in Europe.
Successful players will be offered the chance to take their careers to the next level, with the organizers assuring them of opportunities abroad.
According to the Director of the program and founder of Unique Football Academy, Mr. Jelil Oladimeji, this is not the first time the academy has organized such an event.
“This is the 4th edition, and we are proud of the progress and impact we have made so far in terms of exposing our raw talent to the European market,” he said.
The program has already proven successful, with several players from previous editions going on to excel in European leagues. Some notable examples include Haruna Saleh with PAOK in Greece and Praisegod Emersons in Slovakia.
As the program continues, clubs are gearing up to exhibit their talents, and the future looks bright for Nigeria’s young football stars.
