Be Ready to win more trophy, FG Urges Victorious Golden Eaglets
…As Coach Ugbade seek early camping for the team

Federal government on Tuesday has urged the victorious golden Eaglet not to relent to ensure they win more trophies for themselves and the country.
Minister of Youth and Sports Development Chief Sunday Dare made this known On Tuesday in Abuja at the welcome Party organized to celebrate the young Lads who just won the 2022 U-17 WAFU tournament in Ghana.
He applauded their effort for winning the trophy.
According to him, don’t stop to keep the ball rolling, be humble, focused and ready to win more for yourself and our beloved country.
“Its a privilege to represent a country like Nigeria in international community. “
“Now, we can see that the emphasis on merit and competence has started to bear fruits. The U17 and U20 girls have qualified for their FIFA World Cup competitions with aplomb and the U17 and U20 boys have won regional tournaments in emphatic manner, with promises of what we can look forward to at their African championships next year.
“Our hard focus on grassroots development in all sports will continue. I congratulate the players and their coaches of the Golden Eaglets for winning so convincingly in Ghana and I want to charge you to remain focused for the continental championship in order to get the ticket to the World Cup. For you players, you must stay humble, hardworking and obedient to your coaches.”
Speaking also, was the Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary Dr Sanusi Mohammed who applauded the effort of the Hon. Minster for keeping the flag flying adding that, youths development is the bedrock of every nation.
On his own, the head coach Nduka Ugbade who on behalf of the team thanked all Nigerians whose support and encouragement propel the team to victory.
He, However urged FG, NFF to ensure the team camp early for the forthcoming African U-17 tournament in Algeria.
“I want to plead with Nigeria government and football federation to help us perfect early camping to enable us prepare well for Algeria that will help us to get the world cup ticket.”

AACT 2026: 31 Days to Africa’s Big Sporting Gathering in Abuja

The countdown to the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) has officially entered the final month, with just 31 days to go before Africa’s leading women’s team golf championship tees off at the IBB International Golf & Country Club in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the AACT 2026Director of Communication Kayode Adeniyi on Friday in Abuja.
Under the theme “Africa Is Coming to Abuja,” the countdown campaign will spotlight the championship, the participating nations, the players, the host venue and the growing development of women’s golf across the continent.
The 2026 AACT, scheduled for November 2–7, will bring together women’s golfing talent from across Africa for six days of continental competition in Nigeria’s capital.
As preparations continue at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, attention is increasingly turning to Abuja, where the championship will provide a platform for African golfers to compete while also showcasing Nigeria’s hospitality and the country’s growing profile as a destination for major sporting events.
The countdown will feature daily stories, interviews, player and country profiles, tournament facts, behind-the-scenes updates and features on the host venue as the championship draws closer.
The campaign will also highlight the role of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), the Local Organising Committee and other stakeholders in preparing for the continental championship.
With just 31 days remaining, anticipation is building across the African golfing community as Abuja prepares to welcome the continent’s leading women golfers.
Africa is coming to Abuja.
