Ex Super Eagles Striker John Utaka Hails Senator Sani Musa on his Youth, Sports Development

Former Super Eagles Striker and Montpellier HSC Youth  coach John Chukwudi Utaka has commended Senator Mohammed  Sani Musa for hosting the victorious John Utaka Academy boys at his place in Abuja.


Utaka expressed profound appreciation to the Senator for hosting the boys  despite his busy schedule saying he is one of the few senators in the country that has shown immense interest in  youth of this country.


“I don’t know how thank him because this means so much to me and the boys, finding time to host and Identify with the boys at this critical time in our political history when others would have shelved meeting with the boys for other things they think is more important.”


Based in Niger State Nigeria, the John Utaka Football Academy is known for producing young talents for the age grade teams in the country as well as projecting the players to big clubs across the world.


John Utaka Academy, JUFA won the Niger State Football Association League and recently went on tour of France where they played against youth teams of  Ligue 1 side.

Team Nigeria Jets to Cairo for 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships

Excitement is high as Team Nigeria’s para powerlifting contingent departed Nigeria on Tuesday, October 7, for the 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships set to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9 to 18, 2025. 


The milestone event marks the first-ever World Championships to be hosted on African soil, symbolizing a new era for the sport on the continent.


The first batch of Team Nigeria athletes left the country on Tuesday amid cheers and well-wishes from officials, fans, and supporters.

The second batch of the contingent is scheduled to depart tomorrow, October 8, from Lagos, completing the full team that will represent the nation at this landmark competition.


Speaking ahead of the departure, officials expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and determination to uphold Nigeria’s longstanding reputation as a force to be reckoned with, in global para powerlifting.


The National Sports Commission (NSC) reaffirmed its full support for the athletes, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in sports.
