NYSC Management In Nasarawa Collaborate With Security Agencies To Ensure Safety Of Corps Members

The Nasarawa State Coordinator of the National Youth service Scheme, (NYSC) Abdullahi Ahmed Jikamshi has described the efforts of the nation’s security agencies in the fight against insecurity challenges in the country in recent times as been improved positively, saying that the NYSC management in the state often liaises with security agencies to ensure serving Corp members are protect in all ramifications.
The coordinator made the assertion in an interview with our correspondent during the closing ceremony of 2022 Batch B stream two orientation course,held at Magagin Danyamusa Orientation Camp, Keffi on Tuesday.
” If you look at the issue of insecurity in the last few days you will see that things are improving because security agencies have step-ups their positive actions. It will also interest you to know that we also liaise he with them here in the state in ensuring that the Serving gentlemen Corp members are secured in all ramifications” he stated.
Earlier on while delivering the speach of the Director General of the Scheme Brigadier General Mohammed Fada which he represented, he enjoined.
youth corps members to avoid acts that would portray negative image of the Scheme, especially vices such as drug abuse among others tendercies.
The DG, reiterated the commitment of the scheme towards providing the welfare of corps members across the country, calling on them to be good ambassadors of the scheme anywhere they find themselves.
He appreciated the Federal and the state governments and other relevant agencies for their support at all times and promised to continue justifying the confidence reposed on them while piloting the affairs of the scheme.
General Fadah, said he had received an impressive report on the participation of corps members in the entrepreneurial trainings conducted in Camp under the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, and encouraged them to build on the skills acquired by availing yourselves of opportunities for post-camp training as this will go a long way in empowering them to be self-reliant.
According to him, the scheme is liaising with financial institutions and other stakeholders with a view to providing start-up loans to enable the corps members actualize their business dreams, calling in them to avoid acts that will tarnish their image and that of the scheme.
Speaking in an interview, the youth corps parade commander, Ajiroba Oluwadara Elizabeth and Achoda Faith, said they have achieved a lot during the three weeks orientation course and assured the people of Nasarawa state of their selfless service for the development of all.
The closing ceremony of 2022 Batch B stream two orientation course featured slow and quick match by the corps members as well as the inspection of the guard by state coordinator, Abdullahi Ahmed Jikamshi.
