Kenya, Bostwana others arrive Nigeria Today for ICC World Cup

Ahead of Friday’s kick off of the ICC ICC World Cup Africa Division 2 qualifier to be host by Nigeria the participating teams which includes Ghana, Rwanda, Mozambique, Malawi, Sierra Leone and kenya will arrived Nigeria today Wednesday for the championship.
The event slated for 28th of September to 9th of October 2022 inside the Moshood Abiola National Stadium package B in the Nigeria’s capital city will see eight country battle for the world cup ticket.
Speaking ahead of the event on Tuesday, the president of Nigeria Cricket Federation NCF Uyi Akpata revealed that Nigeria is set to host and win the tournament.
“We just humble to given the opportunity to host the rest of Africa under the division 2 qualifier for the world cup it shows we are making significant progress. We are ready for the event.
“There were improvement in our facilities, the quality of our players, sustain partnerships with ICC and media partnerships.
“Our target is to bring 250,000 people to game of cricket in a year but with the progress we made so far hopefully we can reach 500,000 who knows 1million.
“Our target is to be among top 3 Africa country.”
In his remarked, General Manager Development for ICC, William GlenwrightCommended NCF for tremendous work that is promoting cricket game in the country and continent.
“I am incredibly impressed about facilities, this will enable player to perform well and with this facilities ICC will bring more international competition to Nigeria.”
He however, promised more partnerships that will grow game of cricket more in Nigeria. “We are going to strength the partnerships especially in area of cricket business as well as broadcast opportunity.”

In a warm gesture of unity, oneness, togetherness and goodwill, the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club, Abuja, Alhaji Abddulmajid Solademi, hosted a group of Basketball Journalists on Saturday at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities in Abuja.
The gathering that shows the importance of love, peace, and unity values which is crucial not just for the advancement of basketball, but for the overall progress of the nation.
However, the Sallah is a time to reflect on our shared humanity,” he said. “It’s a moment to support one another and to uphold the values that bring us together, rather than divide us.”
Guests at the event shared stories, enjoyed meals, Asun Rice, Oriental rice, Jollof Rice, Swallow in variety with a lot of drinks that mede them to engaged in meaningful discussions on the development of sports in Nigeria, with a special focus on grassroots basketball.
Many attendees praised Solademi for his unwavering support for the sporting community and his ongoing commitment to using sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social transformation.
