How NFC’s Training Initiative Shape My Game-Prosper Useni

The player of the match at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup Africa Division Two Qualifiers inside the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Package B Abuja Prosper Useni revealed that the different Nigeria Cricket Federation training initiative is seriously yielding good results for him and the entire team.

Just on Tuesday evening, Nigeria cricket team defeated their arch rival Sierra Leone with 11 runs having scored 184 runs all out in 47.4 overs with loss of 8 wickets. While the visitors scored 173 all out in 41.5 overs with loss of 10 wickets.

Indeed, Prosper Useni’s effort won the game and for Nigeria he emerged Player of the match with a bowling statistics of six wickets, 26 runs in 6.5 overs.

Speaking shortly after he received the player of the match award, prosper Useni said the training initiative was not a waste of effort for the Nigeria team.

According to him, we are not looking at anybody, we are focusing on our game.

“What help our performance was one month training given to some of by the NCF, it’s not waste of effort, we went to Zimbabwe for one training with academy, we went there we work hard, we gained more experienced as you can see it really shape our game, we are proud of NCF and I think they will be proud of us to.”

However, Nigeria will play Malawi in the next game.

Meanwhile, six countries are currently featuring in the qualifiers with the top three teams, to progress to the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers.

Airwarrior Basketball Club Chairman, Celebrates Sallah with Journalists in Abuja

The event, filled with camaraderie and appreciation, provided an opportunity for Alhaji Solademi to acknowledge the vital role of the media in national development and the promotion of sports in Nigeria.


In a warm gesture of unity, oneness, togetherness and goodwill, the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club, Abuja, Alhaji Abddulmajid  Solademi, hosted a group of Basketball Journalists on Saturday at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities in Abuja.


The gathering that shows the  importance of love, peace, and unity values which is crucial not just for the advancement of basketball, but for the overall progress of the nation.


However, the Sallah is a time to reflect on our shared humanity,” he said. “It’s a moment to support one another and to uphold the values that bring us together, rather than divide us.”


Guests at the event shared stories, enjoyed meals, Asun Rice, Oriental rice,  Jollof Rice, Swallow in variety with a lot of drinks that mede them to  engaged in meaningful discussions on the development of sports in Nigeria, with a special focus on grassroots basketball.


Many attendees praised Solademi for his unwavering support for the sporting community and his ongoing commitment to using sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social transformation.
