Nigeria Football : Work in progress under Gusau
Nigeria football has witnessed work in progress within few days of the emergence of Alh. Ibrahim Musa Gusau as the new president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), reports www.totorinews.com.
This was disclosed on Monday in Abuja by Yakubu Sarma, the chairman of Gombe State FA, who said that peaceful atmosphere is needed for football to thrive and develop in the country and efforts have been made in this direction by Gusau.
He said further that creating a football environment, powered by peace and tranquility, devoid of rancour is the ultimate desire of Gusau and there have been positive feedbacks of progress, especially by calming the frayed nerves of aggrieved football stakeholders.
“Work began immediately for NFF President after they were sworn -in at Benin. He visited Chief Sunday Dare, the Honourable Minister of Sports and the major talking points were the camping of the Olympic Under 23 Eagles, which the minister graciously made Ibadan available to camp the team,” Sarma told www.totorinews.com.
“The future of the Nigeria league and other issues were also discussed at the meeting. The Sports minister was at the Abuja stadium to cheer Plateau United to victory against Esperance yesterday.
“A good working synergy is already on between the NFF and the Sports Ministry.
“It is also very interesting to inform you that Gusau already opened his doors for wide consultations with some of the aggrieved football stakeholders. No matter their grievances, the door is wide open for amicable resolution of the root cause of their agitations.
“It is a gradual process. Nigeria football needs peaceful environment to attract more sponsors and partners.
“Gusau, as a leader, is genuinely pursuing these goals and Nigerians should be rest assured that development of football in the country will surely get better,” he said.
