Presidential Award will spur me to do more for youth-Sports Minister

The Minister of Youth and Sports Chief Sunday Dare has revealed that, the Federal Government’s Excellence in Public Service Award will no doubt spur him and his team to do more for the growth and development of sports sector in the country. 

The award was in recognition of his excellent contributions and commitment to the growth and development of sports in the country especially in the area of infrastructure development was presented by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Minister who is full of joy,  dedicated the award to his team, praising them for their commitment to his vision.

According to him, this is not a personal award for me. It is for my team, the Permanent Secretary, Directors, my aides and all those working with me in the Ministry.

“Without their hard work and commitment to this cause, this award would not happen. So this is for them all.

“It is a call for us to do more. So we will not slow down, the remaining months I have left in office is for more hard work.”A

“And without doubt this award will spur me to do more for Sports in Nigeria and beyond.”

Under the leadership of Minister Nigeria sport thrive as a result of  many innovative programmes that is giving Nigeria Sports Headway local, national and international.

First Lady, Remi Tinubu Declares African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship Open Today

The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, will declare open the much-awaited 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship (AWVCC25) today, Thursday, in the Federal Capital Territory. Sixteen clubs from across the continent will compete for top honors in the prestigious tournament.


The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) had earlier announced that the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, would serve as the Grand Patron of the championship.

First Lady will be present at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, to officially declare the tournament open.


Excitement is building in Abuja as preparations reach their final stage. A technical meeting was held on Wednesday night, during which organizers reaffirmed their readiness to host a successful tournament.


Hosted by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the championship will run from April 1st to April 14th at the multipurpose sports hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.


The event promises to be a showcase of top-tier volleyball talent from across the continent.

while giving hint on the event, Sports Secretary Nigeria Customs Samuel Onikeku at the Technical Meeting on Wednesday said that First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will be at stadium to declared the event open
