EFCC Emerges Winner of 2022 Unity Preseason Tourney in FCT

The EFCC Football Club of Abuja on Saturday shocked Nasarawa United in 4-2 penalty shoot out after played 1-1 in the 90 minutes at the final of the 2022 edition of Preseason tournament on the Federal Capital Territory.
It was explosive encounter between the two clubs as solid miner of Nasarawa who was runner up of 2021 edition could not laid their hand on the trophy for the second time back to back as EFCC boys carry the day.
Financial club, EFCC player Masoud Danjuma scored in the 7th minutes of match to take the lead 1-0.
But Nasarawa United equalized in the 55th minutes courtesy of Joshua John to leveled 1-1.
Also, all the effort of the two teams proofed abortive at the duration of match and went to penalty shoot out but at the end it went 4-2 in favour of EFCC.
However, the final of Unity Preseason Cup from the opening day attracted the presence of football stakeholders starting from NFF president Alhaji Ibrahim Gusua who graced one of the match.
On final day it was arrays of football stakeholders which includes, the NFF Vice President Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu,Abia Warriors Chairman, Pastor Emeka Inyama, Dominic Iorfa, Danladi Isaac, Aloy Chukwuemeka, Niger State FA Vice Chairman, Kogi State FA Chairman, all were in attendance.

Team Nigeria Jets to Cairo for 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships

Excitement is high as Team Nigeria’s para powerlifting contingent departed Nigeria on Tuesday, October 7, for the 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships set to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9 to 18, 2025.
The milestone event marks the first-ever World Championships to be hosted on African soil, symbolizing a new era for the sport on the continent.
The first batch of Team Nigeria athletes left the country on Tuesday amid cheers and well-wishes from officials, fans, and supporters.
The second batch of the contingent is scheduled to depart tomorrow, October 8, from Lagos, completing the full team that will represent the nation at this landmark competition.
Speaking ahead of the departure, officials expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and determination to uphold Nigeria’s longstanding reputation as a force to be reckoned with, in global para powerlifting.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) reaffirmed its full support for the athletes, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in sports.
