Nigeria Will Break Olympic Jinx- Volleyball President

The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Engr. Musa Nimrod has revealed that the Federation is working very hard to break Olympic jinx come 2024 in  Paris France.


He gave this assurance at the ongoing 2nd phase of National Beach Volleyball tour at Jabi Lake in Abuja saying that the tour will keep players fit for any international competition.


According to him, Volleyball entry qualifiers  is on for the  next Olympics in France.


Volleyball Federation wis working hard to secure a ticket for to Paris for the 2024 Olympics.


“We want to break the jinx this time around, on the roads to Rio de Janeiro in 2016 Olympics Nigeria beach  women came second.


“On the road to Tokyo  2020 Olympics in Japan, Nigeria women came second again.
“We are believing God by the grace of God we have to break the jinx and we must  secure a ticket to Paris that is our desire before 2024.”


Engr Nimrod said the major challenge facing the Federation is lack of sponsorship
“We are praying that God will open door for us to have sponsors  so that the third phase will come to fulfilment.


We will keep our players intact because 2024 Paris Olympic already beach volleyball entry is already on so there’s no time to waste .
“We did the first tour in Yola ,now the second tour in Abuja and the third tour will come up in Lagos before the end of the year.


“We must continue to make them busy with competition so that they will well fit for any international tournament and especially qualifiers.”

Airwarrior Basketball Club Chairman, Celebrates Sallah with Journalists in Abuja

The event, filled with camaraderie and appreciation, provided an opportunity for Alhaji Solademi to acknowledge the vital role of the media in national development and the promotion of sports in Nigeria.


In a warm gesture of unity, oneness, togetherness and goodwill, the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club, Abuja, Alhaji Abddulmajid  Solademi, hosted a group of Basketball Journalists on Saturday at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities in Abuja.


The gathering that shows the  importance of love, peace, and unity values which is crucial not just for the advancement of basketball, but for the overall progress of the nation.


However, the Sallah is a time to reflect on our shared humanity,” he said. “It’s a moment to support one another and to uphold the values that bring us together, rather than divide us.”


Guests at the event shared stories, enjoyed meals, Asun Rice, Oriental rice,  Jollof Rice, Swallow in variety with a lot of drinks that mede them to  engaged in meaningful discussions on the development of sports in Nigeria, with a special focus on grassroots basketball.


Many attendees praised Solademi for his unwavering support for the sporting community and his ongoing commitment to using sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social transformation.
