My Desire is to play for Nigeria – Italy based defender

As Lionel Messi and his Argentine teammates jubilated on Sunday after winning the world cup to fulfil  their childhood dreams, Sulaiman Oyewale, Italy based Nigerian defender is also dreaming of playing for the Super Eagles and possibly win laurels for the country.

Oyewale, who plies his trade with Giugliano Calcio in the Italian Serie C said that he has learnt a lot in Italy under his coach and he will keep on proving his game, not just to remain relevant at his club, but also to make his ambition to play for Nigeria to become a reality.

“Every player dreams of representing his country one day. I have a strong desire to play for Nigeria, my  greatest ambition is to be able to play for Nigeria, to represent Nigeria. It is my childhood dream,” Sulaiman Oyewale said.

“And just as Lionel Messi and his teammates achieved their dreams to win world cup for Argentina, I hope to also achieve my dream of representing my country and win international trophy.
“It is not just a dream or ambition, I am also seriously praying and working hard towards it. I pray this dream will be fulfilled soon.

He also revealed that playing in Italy has toughened him, especially the tactical aspect of football, adding that he is thankful to his coach for making it possible.
“It is thanks to the coach. The team is doing well because he always want us before a match to get the information available about the opposite team, their video, their characteristics and everything about our opponents.

“What I have learnt is that when we loose the ball we have to be aggressive, very energetic as we mark the opponents to retrieve the ball and we must play our games without being scared of any opponent.

“He is helping me to improve very well. Some times, he plays me as a left wing back, full left back or even at the left side of the midfield as an offensive player.

“It all depends on the opponents and thanks to hi. that am improving a lot,” he said.

According to the Commission, it is not currently receiving applications for any MSc Education Support Fund as contained in the circulating message.

NEDC therefore urged prospective applicants and other members of the public to disregard the information and avoid submitting personal documents to individuals or locations claiming to be acting on behalf of the Commission.

It specifically cautioned the public against releasing sensitive documents such as National Identification Number (NIN) slips, admission letters, identity cards and indigene certificates in connection with the purported programme.

The Commission further warned the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes and the unauthorised use of NEDC’s name and identity to deceive unsuspecting applicants.

It advised members of the public seeking information on its programmes, interventions and opportunities to rely only on official NEDC communication channels and verified announcements issued by the Commission
