HONOURABLE FRANCIS OTTAH AGBO FLAWS AIDA NATH OGWUCHE AT THE COURT OF APPEAL
Following the conduct of the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party for Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency of Benue State on the 23rd day of May, 2022 which declared AIDA NATH OGWUCHE as the duly nominated candidate.
Honourable Francis Ottah Agbo who came second in the primary election filed an Originating Summons at the Federal High Court Makurdi seeking amongst others the disqualification of AIDA for failure to resign her appointment with the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
On the 21st day of November, 2022, the learned trial judge dismissed the case filed by Hon. Francis and held that Aida was duly qualified to contest the primary election.
Hon. Francis filed a Notice of Appeal against the judgment of the trial court and in a considered judgment delivered today, their Lordships of the Court held that AIDA violated Section 66(1)(f) of the Constitution having failed to resign her appointment before contesting the primary election.
The Court of Appeal held that AIDA was not qualified to contest the election and ordered PDP and INEC to forthwith recognize Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo as the duly nominated candidate for Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency in the general election.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Ogwa Vivian Onyedibia, Senior Assistant on Media to the AUDA-NEPAD CEO, Hon. Abdullahi urged Nigerians to embrace the core values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion that define the season.
He emphasized that these principles are essential not only to the spiritual significance of the celebration but also to national development and peaceful coexistence.
“Eid is a time for reflection, sacrifice, and togetherness. As we celebrate, let us renew our commitment to building a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria,” he said.
Hon. Abdullahi expressed hope that the celebration would inspire a collective spirit among Nigerians and strengthen the bonds of love, empathy, and patriotism across communities.
He wished all Muslim faithful a joyous and fulfilling celebration, praying for continued peace and blessings upon the nation.
