Women’s Day 2023 Football Tournament: Fame Foundation Call for CSOs Registration

Ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day, a non-governmental organization that has been fighting for gender equality in the country, FAME foundation has called on all civil society organizations to register for the annual football tournament slated for March 8th 2023.
The tournament will take place at the Area 3 Football Pitch, Area 2, Garki, in Nigeria’s capital city Abuja starting from 8am and ending at 3pm.
The International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
Also, the day marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.
According to the statement issued by the founder of FAME Foundation Aderonke Bello, FAME Foundation is putting together its annual International Women’s Day football tournament on March 8, 2023, and we’re calling on members of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), to register their interest to participate at the tournament. This is a first-time open call to our colleagues in the CSO community.
“Civil society organizations are advised to fill the form to express your interest and we will contact you.
“The following are the criteria; Players Criteria: Female, Age18-60 yrs. of age, Team must have Minimum of 15 and Maximum of 17 players (including a captain and goalkeeper), Player should Non-professional footballers, each player must be in good health, and player’s well-being, based in Abuja or its environs.”

The event, filled with camaraderie and appreciation, provided an opportunity for Alhaji Solademi to acknowledge the vital role of the media in national development and the promotion of sports in Nigeria.
In a warm gesture of unity, oneness, togetherness and goodwill, the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club, Abuja, Alhaji Abddulmajid Solademi, hosted a group of Basketball Journalists on Saturday at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities in Abuja.
The gathering that shows the importance of love, peace, and unity values which is crucial not just for the advancement of basketball, but for the overall progress of the nation.
However, the Sallah is a time to reflect on our shared humanity,” he said. “It’s a moment to support one another and to uphold the values that bring us together, rather than divide us.”
Guests at the event shared stories, enjoyed meals, Asun Rice, Oriental rice, Jollof Rice, Swallow in variety with a lot of drinks that mede them to engaged in meaningful discussions on the development of sports in Nigeria, with a special focus on grassroots basketball.
Many attendees praised Solademi for his unwavering support for the sporting community and his ongoing commitment to using sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social transformation.
