After crushing Remo Stars of Ikene, in their top of the table clash, in Benin; Bendel Insurance has made clear their intentions, to qualify for the season ending Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super 6.

After wandering in the lower division (Nigeria National League) for some years, Insurance got promoted back to the top flight; and after the first four matches of the season, they have made secrete of their intentions.

Already, they won 2-0 at 2021 Champions, Akwa United, and followed it with an eye-catching 2-1 home victory over last season’s runners up Plateau United, before edging Kwara United at their adopted home, in I Ibadan.

In all of these games, their prolific striker, Imade Osarenkhoe, who was the too scorer in the NNL last season, scored a goal in each game, and also started the rush, in their 3-0 thrashing of Remo Stars, who until Day-4, were yet to concede a goal.

A closer look at the Edo Arsenal, will easily reveal to one, that they have a very compact team, with a crop of young lads, mixed with experienced campaigners; like Austin Oguye who joined from Lobi Stars; Peter Ambrose, formerly of Kaduna United, and Abia Warriors and Jide Williams who previously played for Kwara United.

These and others, are the experienced players in the team, but the new kid on the block, and the lip of every follower of the league, is Imade Osarenkhoe.

A goal in each of the four matches, he and Insurance has played so far this season, makes him the leading goal scorer of the league.

Together with former Under-17 player, Divine Nwachukwu, and Emmanuel Seriki who is on 3 goals, thus far this season, they have made things happen for Bendel Insurance, who are top of the NPFL Group A log with 12 points, 3 clears of second in the table, Remo Stars.

Imade Osehenkhoe scored in the fifth minute, blew away the aura of invincibility, Remo Stars commanded before the match, and further goals from Emmanuel Seriki, in the 29th minute and Austin Ogunye, in the 78th minute, completed the rout.

In Uyo, Isaac George had put the hosts, Dakkada FC ahead in the 16th minute; before Rivers United fought back to score two goals in the last 12 minutes, through Nyima Nwangwa and Naibe Akpesiri to win the tie 2-1; with all three goals, coming in the opening half.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja Director of Communication AACT 2026, Kayode Adeniyi said the Club’s Board of Trustees has assured that the facility will be fully prepared to welcome golfers, officials and delegates from across Africa when the championship tees off on November 2.

Chairman of the Club’s Interim Management Committee, Peter Deshi, also expressed optimism over the progress of work, with regular golfing activities expected to resume ahead of the championship.

For the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), the readiness of the host venue remains a critical component of the country’s preparations.
