Sports Minister Applauds FAME Foundation For championing Women Course

 The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has heaped huge praises on the FAME Foundation for being the vanguard of championing the course of women, that is, prospering women and girls in Nigeria and Africa.

FAME Foundation is a gender-based non-governmental organisation, and since its inception some years ago, have put smiles on the faces of many women in the country and beyond.

One of its sports activities is the yearly Women’s International Day Football Tournament which gives hope to many hopeless young girls, taking them from the street to reshape their lives.

The Sports minister, who was the guest of honour at the FAME Foundation women’s international football tournament on Wednesday, extolled the foundation for championing the course of women in the country.

According to him, we have been watching closely, the effort of FAME Foundation in the last five years, and I am glad that it’s paying off. We can all see the enthusiasm displayed here is massive and commendable.

“I want to use this medium to call on other NGOs to take the cue from the FAME foundation to be in the vanguard of championing the course of women.”

 While speaking, the elated Founder of the FAME foundation, who has been using all her energy to champion the course of women for equity and Justice, Aderonke Ogunleye Bello expressed that she is happy to be putting a smile on the faces of many Nigerians and she will not relent in fighting for women equality.

 FAME Foundation boss, however, urged all Stakeholders to channel their energy on the initiative that will empower, as well as chart way forward on many issues affecting them.

 However, March 8th of Every year remains International Women’s Day set aside globally to celebrate social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It’s also a day to mark a call to action for accelerating gender parity, women achievement, and rally for women’s support.

Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Seyi Makinde has been applauded for providing a record-breaking support system for the team Oyo contingent who participated in the Opening ceremony of the 8th edition of the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, and ready for the Games

An elated Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state, in her social media handled Hon. Wasilat Adegoke described the Governor’s support as unprecedented says the support will no doubt help the team to perform well in the ongoing annual national event

According to her, Today, I attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, alongside our talented athletes who have worked tirelessly to represent Oyo State. I am honored to be part of this momentous occasion.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to our esteemed Governor, His Excellency @Seyi_Makinde, and the Oyo State Sports Council for their unwavering support and resources provided to our athletes. Your commitment to their success is truly commendable.

“I also appreciate the Federal Ministry of Sports Development for organizing this event, providing our young athletes with a platform to showcase their talents and develop their skills.

“As we gather here today, I am filled with pride and excitement to see our young athletes display their passion, dedication, and determination. Team Oyo, this is our moment! Let us unite, strive for excellence, and make our state proud!
