TIG Club, Japan Embassy introduce ‘Kendama Toothed Sport’ to Nigeria

As part of the effort to ensure Nigeria, as a country, take advantage of all sport games available in the whole world, Tony International Gymnastic Club of Nigeria (TIG Club Nigeria) in conjunction with Japan Embassy in Nigeria, is set to introduce another brand new creative Sports called “Kendama Toothed Sport” to the country.

The game will enable many Nigerians, who have talent in Kendama Games, have the opportunity to play the game for the first time in Nigeria.

The first ever Kendama toothed Sports games will take place at Moshood Abiola National stadium Gymnastic hall on Saturday 1st of April, 2023, in Abuja by 3:00pm Nigerian Time.

It would be recalled that, Japan Embassy and TIG Club of Abuja, over the years, have partnered with the aim of prospering sports in Nigeria.

There’s no doubt, the partner is now contributing to the growth and development of sports such as Gymnastics, Karate, Taekwondo and now Kendama sports.

However, the Kendama game is a traditional Japanese skill toy that consists of a handle (ken), a pair of cups (sarado), and a ball (tama) that are all connected together by a string.

On one end of the ken is a cup, while the other end of the ken is narrowed down, forming a spike (kensaki) that fits into the hole (ana) of the tama.

Kendama can be held in different grips, and many tricks and combinations can be performed. The game is played by tossing the ball into the air and attempting to catch it on the stick point.

The origin of kendama are disputed, but it is generally believed to have originated during the 17th or 18th century.

CSO Salutes Trump

A Civil Society Organization (CSO) under the aegis of Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) has congratulated President Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States of America.

Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President of the CSO said this in an interview with the Newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

He expressed optimism over improvement on not just American economy but global economy with the inauguration of Trump.

“This is a man with greater vision of making environment around him great.

“In less than few hours of his inauguration, TikTok is back into existence, this shows how he is going to revive the world economy,” he said.

The ILDC boss who reiterated his confidence in Trump’s Presidency, described him as a man of clues and ideas to drive a stable America and the world at large.

He lauded Trump’s collaboration with global entrepreneurs like Elon Musk in an effort to revitalize America’s economy.

According to him, men and women of ideas flock together, they work together for better society and this is what Trump is doing.

Recall that Donald Trump became the 47th President of the U.S by polling 312 electoral votes Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226 votes in Nov, 2024.

Following the oath of office, Trump will address the nation before he is expected to parade across town to the White House and attend three inaugural balls in the evening

About 200,000 supporters are expected to visit the city to mark the presidential transfer of power.
