Pascal Returns As Bauchi FA Chairman

Former International Patrick Pascal has been relected as the Chairman of Bauchi State Football Association for another four years.

Pascal who was first elected to the office in 2019, however had some running battles with his former Board leading to the NFF suspending the elections which had earlier been slated for 27 May 2023.

However in a clearance letter dated 26th May, 2023 the NFF gave a clean slate to the processes leading to the election, and order that the electoral processes be concluded and elections hold on 29th May as against the earlier date of 27th May.

In the election which was conducted under a peaceful atmosphere, the former Super Eagles utility player Pascal Patrick was returned unopposed as Chairman.

Alhaji Mohammed Musa Dambam was elected as the First Vice Chairman, while the 2nd Vice Chairman position went to Alhaji Nura Ahmed.

Other Executive Board Members that were elected included Murtala Adamu Toro, Rilwanu Maidawa, Abdulmumin Musa, Lawal Suleiman Ibrahim,Umar Mohammed Cheche and Maikudi Bello Gamawa.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman appreciated all the stakeholders for their support, and implore them to work hard to consolidate on the gains of the last four years.

He solicited for their further support to ensure that grassroots football attain its enviable stage in the state.

Super Eagles Can Secure Six Points Against Benin Republic and Rwanda – Barrister Alli

Barrister Rotimi Alli, Chairman of the Ibadan Football Council, has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ ability to secure the maximum six points in their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Speaking at the September edition of the Ex-University of Ibadan Footballers Association virtual interactive session, “Guest of the Month,” Barrister Alli, popularly known as Libero, emphasized that the team’s success depends on the players’ determination and willpower.

“It’s not about the coaches; it’s all about the boys,” he stated. “With only two or three days of preparation, there’s little the coaches can do. It’s the players’ mindset that will determine the outcome. They must decide among themselves that they want to win.”

Barrister Alli believes that the caliber of players in the Super Eagles squad is more than capable of achieving success. “Considering the quality of players we have, there’s nothing stopping us from qualifying for the Nations Cup and the World Cup,” he added.

The Super Eagles will face Benin Republic and Rwanda in crucial AFCON qualifiers this weekend, and Barrister Alli’s optimism is a testament to the team’s potential. With the right mindset and determination, the Super Eagles can secure the maximum points and take a significant step towards qualifying for the major tournaments.
