Tingo group Boosts 2023 Federation Cup with 200m, as NFF signs first agreement

A 78 year old prestigious oldest  Federation Cup competition, on Thursday, got a massive boost when the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Tingo group signed a partnership agreement to sponsor the oldest cup, in the history of the country, with sum of 200million Naira.


The agreement was signed at the NFF headquarters in  Abuja, where NFF and Tingo organization vowed to bring more development to the Nigeria’s football. 


While speaking, the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau,  said that the Federation will leave no stone unturned to ensure growth and development of the round leather game in the country.


According to him, as we aware, this will be the first sponsorship deal for this board and by the grace of God, more are still coming.
“Tingo is a global media organization and we are lucky to partner with them, it’s a big plus for us and we shall do our best to maintain the relationship.”


Speaking on the number of years  to sponsor the FA Cup: “The main agreement in next year but they are supporting us with sum of 200million naira.


He said: “Securing sponsorship is not easy, we took our time to get the best, we don’t want to have sponsor that will default, and we find Tingo group worthy.”


In his regards, the Chief Operating officer COO of Tingo Group, Peter Owokolo, thanked NFF for what they are doing for the growth of football in Nigeria, and vowed to join NFF achieve more growth.

“At Tingo, we are committed to overall development of football.”


He congratulated the Under- 20 boys that just beat Argentina in their own country.

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.

Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.

“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”

Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.

“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.

Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
