Chief Sunday Dare Pays Homage to the New Soun of Ogbomosoland, Orumogege III

…Reiterates Commitment to the Development of Ogbomosoland.

The Agbaakin of Ogbomosoland, Chief Sunday Akin Dare (CON FNIS), has pledged his unflinching support to the newly installed Soun of Ogbomoaholand, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye Orumogege III; and described the monarch as best equipped to see to the greater unity, peace and development of the entire landscape of Ogbomoaholand.

made these pronouncements when he, in company of his wife Kemi Dare, and his entourage paid homage to the newly installed monarch, at the Oja Igbo Palace of Ogbomosoland, on Monday, October 9, 2023.

Addressing the monarch, Chief Sunday Dare noted that he is not in doubt that Ogbomosoland now has a new King, well grounded and prepared for the task of moving the community, to greater heights.

“I’m here today, to pay a well-deserved homage…, I’m also happy that this time has come, and Ogbomosoland has a new King, in the person of His Imperial Majesty… Your antecedents stands you apart, as one that has been well prepared, ahead of the throne”, he said.

Chief Dare went on to declare his unflinching support to the reign of the royal father, and pledged his readiness to serve on whatever capacity, he may be needed, as and when due.

Chief Dare, the immediate past Minister of Sports and Youth Development, also debriefed the King about his modest contributions to Ogbomosoland and Oyo State as a whole, while serving Nigeria as Minister.

He then presented a book, which he said encapsulates his major life-transforming interventions, rendered to his people; such as the Ogbomosho-Oyo road, 1.2 billion Naira Ecological Fund, 850 million Naira Specialist Hospital at Pakiotan – which is about to be upgraded to a Federal Medical Center (FMC) to employ about 150 indigenes.

Also listed were the
roofing of the Ogbomosho Township Stadium, Youth Centre, and employments in National Youth Fund, as well as federal civil service for Ogbomosho indigenes at (NYSC, CLTC, CBN; and Boards of Federal MDAs).

Chief Dare, who also holds the title Sarkin Wassani concluded by affirming that; “I want to do more, as son of the soil, and I wish the King, long life, to the glory of God, full of service and blessings to humanity”.

Formerly, Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, he was eventually crowned the new Soun of Ogbomoaholand, after the Oyo State government had a few ago given the all-clear for his installation as King; and that was followed by the conclusion of the requisite traditional rites.

The Special Adviser to the President (Media and Public Communications), Chief Sunday Dare CON FNIS, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, describing him as a purposeful leader who rescued Nigeria from the brink.
