Elegbeleye Hails Sunday Dare’s Appointment

Chairman of the nation’s first tie league, NPFL, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, has congratulated the former minister of Sports and Youth development, Chief Sunday Akin Dare over his recent appointment as Special Adviser to president Bola Tinubu on Public Communication and national Orientation.

Elegbeleye, a former Director General of the National Sports Commission and member of the House of Representatives Sports Committee hailed president Tinubu for the appointment of the former minister, who he described as a renowned and experienced media expert who would add much value to the president’s administration.

Elegbeleye in a statement he signed on Friday noted that president Tinubu has made a very good and commendable choice in Chief Sunday Dare noting that the former minister has excelled in all his previous engagements, with the required experience to add to the already existing media team that would continue to crest the awareness on the milestone achievements of the Tinubu administration.

He said, “Chief Sunday Akin Dare is an illustrious media mogul whose nearly three decades experience from both local and international media organizations has excelled him to stand out in his other assignments.

“President Tinunu made a perfect choice in Chief Sunday Dare, having garnered lots of experience in the media industry. He is a very big asset to the president in the area of media communication and national orientation with his return to a very familiar terrain.

His vast experience has made him very exceptional in his service to his country, especially his recent assignment as minister of Youth and Sports development, where he brought in reforms that relaunched Nigeria into a major continental and world sporting nation.

“I have no doubt that Chief Sunday Dare will once more showcase his skill and wealth of experience in his new assignment, having performed above expectations in his previous ones.”

Namibian APRM Delegation Visits AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria on Peer Learning Mission

The Ambassador and Chief Executive Officer of the APRM National Secretariat, Namibia, Ambassador Lineekela Mboti, has led a delegation, including officials from the APRM Continental Secretariat, on a visit to the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, in Abuja.


The visit was aimed at gaining deeper insight into the operational structure of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in Nigeria, its reporting lines, challenges, and the advantages of integrating the AUDA-NEPAD and APRM structures under a unified system.


Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi provided an overview of Nigeria’s implementation framework, highlighting the synergy between AUDA-NEPAD and APRM in advancing governance and development outcomes.


 He commended the Namibian team’s commitment to institutional learning and assured them of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria’s readiness to provide the necessary technical support and guidance to strengthen APRM operations in Namibia.
