Anambra Hunters Capture Another Member of Kidnap Gang Behind Nimo Engineer Abduction

Barely 48 hours of apprehending one of a 4-man kidnap gang who abducted a building engineer at Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State on Saturday 2nd November, 2024, the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) has arrested another member of same gang who kidnapped the building engineer.
HEADLINE NEWS reports that a video evidence of the arrested kidnap suspect showed that the Ebonyi state born daredevil hoodlum confessed to the crime and has been handed over to the police for further investigations.
Meanwhile the Southeast Zonal Commander of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) ACG Mark Okem Okonkwo, said they received intelligence that one of the kidnappers who eloped while NHFSS officers were trying to rescue the building engineer under their hostage in a forest at Nimo, had returned and they swooped on him Monday 4th November, 2024 being the usual sit-at-home day.
Okonkwo said that the first gang member who was arrested ab initio identified the second suspect as one of them and that the victim equally identified the second suspect as one of the criminals who abducted him at gunpoint.
Okonkwo therefore solicited for more information from rural dwellers in Nimo and other neighbouring communities to enable hunters track down other fleeing gang members, stressing that Anambra forests will no longer be camps for kidnappers and other criminal elements.
The Deputy Commander-General (Intelligence) of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) Amb. Dr. John Metchie extolled the intrepidity of the team who arrested the second kidnap suspect, saying that the team led by the Anambra State Commander of NHFSS,Mazi Destiny E Jonas has done a very commendable job and ensuring criminals don’t turn Anambra to a haven and the collaboration with South East Zonal command is yielding good dividend.
Metchie also acknowledged the giant strides of the Commander-General of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) Amb. Dr. Joshua Osatimehin, saying that NHFSS is making milestones under his watch.
