Nigeria’s Sports Development is in safe hands with Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olopade- Presidential Media Adviser Sunday Dare

Former Minister for Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, says the future of Nigeria Sports is secured under the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, following the aggressive reforms currently going on under the National Sports Commission, NSC.

Sunday Dare who is currently the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication said Nigeria has a President who is in tune with 21st Century Sports Development.

Sunday Dare who is the Sarkin Wasanni of Hausaland was speaking at the inauguration of the Elite Athletes and Podium Board of the National Sports Commission.

” When you look at the budget of Sports now and when I was the Sports Minister, you will discover that it is a complete revolution that has taken place in Nigerian Sports under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.

” This is a President that understands the importance of Sports Development to our youthful population, that also understands the importance of Sports diplomacy, where countries are leveraging the soft power of Sports, even when you go to global organisations”.

” President Tinubu does not believe in the episodic funny of Sports. He does not believe in waiting for the Olympics Games before going to get money for the games or for the Commonwealth Games and the Sports festival, because according to him, the culture of Sport Development is continuous “.

Sunday Dare however showed praise on the current leadership of the National Sports Commission with Mallam Shehu Dikko as Chairman and Hon. Bukola Olopade as Director General, describing their combination as a Game-changer for Nigeria Sports.

” Sports Development in Nigeria is now in good hands with Shehu Dikko and Honourable Bukola Olopade. These are men that can take risks for Sports Development”.

“They come onboard with something that is rare.The extent of their network is massive and extensive and that is what we need to lead Sports Development in the 21st century. Beyond what the Government can offer, you need people with deep roots in the Corporate World and these two men are really very comfortable when it comes to that terrain”, he concluded.

RENISA congratulates Musa on retirement, describes him as embodiment of humility, perseverance

The President, National Executive Committee (NEC) and the entire members of the Association of Retired Sports Men and Women of Nigeria (RENISA) has congratulated former Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa, who announced his retirement from the Super Eagles on Wednesday.

RENISA President, Sunday Adeleye, in a statement he personally signed on behalf of the Association, described the 2013 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) as an embodiment of humility, perseverance and determination who served Nigeria with all his heart and who also recorded major milestones with the three-time African champions.

Adeleye said, “On behalf of RENISA, I want to congratulate Ahmed Musa on retirement. He came, saw and conquered and he served Nigeria diligently. It is no mean feat to have been capped 111 times by Nigeria. It shows resilience, humility, perseverance and determination on the part of a world-class player who led well while he held sway as the skipper of the senior national football team and as a team player who rallied support for his teammates whenever they are on national assignment.

“It is a thing of joy that he joined the national team set up at such an early age and contributed greatly to the success of the team especially during the 2013 African Cup of Nations AFCON which was held in South Africa where the Super Eagles went all the way to life the trophy under the tutelage of the big boss himself, Coach Stephen Keshi, may God bless his (Keshi) soul, amen.”

The former Nigerian sprint star added, “And now that he has retired successfully, we want to warmly welcome him to RENISA and we believe that even in retirement, he will still continue to contribute his quota to the growth of sports in Nigeria. Musa has made the country proud and the Association is very proud of him and his legacies. We should also not forget that Musa is a philanthropist of note who has made lasting impacts on the lives of the less privileged and the downtrodden.”

“We want to congratulate him once again as we welcome him to RENISA’s fold.”
