FCT Chairman Adam Mouktar Visits NTA, commends media on sports development

The FCT FA Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, has commended the Nigeria media and journalists for their roles in the development and growth of sports, especially football in the FCT and Nigeria in general. 


Adam Mouktar, the number one football administrator in the FCT, stated when he paid a courtesy visit on Kayode Adeniyi, the Manager Sports, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) at their office inside the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja.


The FCT FA Chairman, while speaking, thanked the entire media space for their commitment, and effective watchdog role in the sports sector. 


“I want to state that, the role of the media in any society can never be over emphasized. Any society without the media is a nonexisting society. So also the role of media on sports. We can never quantify it. There have been lots of progress and working synergy. It is good for sports.”


Adam Mouktar, called for more collaboration between sports administrators and the media in Nigeria. 


“Let me also reiterate that, yes, we have done so much. But they say, there is room for continuous improvement. Let the collaboration be progressive and not retrogressive. The media is needed on every planning stage of any sports development. So we should be partners and the partnership should be working.”


He stated that the FCT FA Board is open to innovative ideas that will further bring more developments of football to the FCT, especially at the grassroot level, as the catch them young project is about discovering, nurturing and positioning of talents for podium success for Nigeria.


The FCT FA Chairman, congratulated the General Manager NTA Sports, Kayode Adeniyi, on his appointment, while charging him to bring forth his expertise to reposition media coverage of sports in Nigeria. 


On his part, the General Manager NTA Sports, Kayode Adeniyi, re-emphasized his commitment to giving sports the needed coverage in Nigeria and Africa, as sports is a unifying factor for Nigerians.


Meanwhile, the FCT FA Board, has applauded the Nigeria Nationwide League One, (NLO) on the administration of the League in Nigeria.


Coach Bassey, who led a delegation of some Board members on behalf of the FCT FA Chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar, to the office of Mr. Shola, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the NLO in Abuja, while speaking, commended the leaders of the NLO on the success of the league so far. 


“We are here to say well done for all you have been doing. We know the challenges that comes with running a league like the NLO, but we also believe, your experience in management and administration has made those challenges surmountable.”


He however, called for an expansion of the venues in the FCT to accommodate more matches of the NLO. 


“We are here to also to make an appeal for expansion of venues for the teams from FCT that are participating in the NLO. One core promise of the Adam Mouktar led FCT FA is to take the game to the people of the FCT. That is why you can see and attest to the frenzy atmosphere at the Bwari stadium wherever there is a football match. The people love and they enjoy it. We need to take it to other locals governments in the FCT. We want more venues. That is our appeal.” Once again, we say congratulations for all you are doing”.

Airwarrior Basketball Club Chairman, Celebrates Sallah with Journalists in Abuja

The event, filled with camaraderie and appreciation, provided an opportunity for Alhaji Solademi to acknowledge the vital role of the media in national development and the promotion of sports in Nigeria.


In a warm gesture of unity, oneness, togetherness and goodwill, the Chairman of Air Warriors Basketball Club, Abuja, Alhaji Abddulmajid  Solademi, hosted a group of Basketball Journalists on Saturday at his residence in celebration of the Sallah festivities in Abuja.


The gathering that shows the  importance of love, peace, and unity values which is crucial not just for the advancement of basketball, but for the overall progress of the nation.


However, the Sallah is a time to reflect on our shared humanity,” he said. “It’s a moment to support one another and to uphold the values that bring us together, rather than divide us.”


Guests at the event shared stories, enjoyed meals, Asun Rice, Oriental rice,  Jollof Rice, Swallow in variety with a lot of drinks that mede them to  engaged in meaningful discussions on the development of sports in Nigeria, with a special focus on grassroots basketball.


Many attendees praised Solademi for his unwavering support for the sporting community and his ongoing commitment to using sports as a powerful tool for youth empowerment and social transformation.
