New NNPC Chairman Eng Musa Kida holds Strategic meeting with NSC for sustainable Sports Growth

Director General of the National Sports Commission, NSC , Hon Bukola Olopade has expressed excitement over potential collaboration between the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Limited and the Sports Commission.
The DG stated this after a fruitful strategic meeting held in his office when the newly appointed Chairman of the NNPC Limited, Eng Musa Kida paid him a working visit on Tuesday.
The DG said it is an exciting time for Nigerian Sports and the meeting with the new NNPC Chairman who is also the President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation,NBBF, has further opened up better opportunities that will enhance the rapid growth of the Country’s Sports.
” We can’t be more proud in Sports that we have Eng Musa Kida occupying the position that he holds now and as someone who is very passionate about Nigerian Sports, we are already discussing areas of possible collaboration between the Country’s apex oil and gas institution and the NSC”.
” Mr President has given us a mandate to revamp Nigerian Sports and build an Ecosystem that has a thriving and sustainable Economy and I have no doubt that having Eng Kida as the new NNPC Limited Chairman, is another giant step to achieving our objectives”, he added.
The New NNPC Chairman also re-echoed the excitement of the DG, adding that the meeting was aimed at ensuring a sustainable Sports Growth under the Renewed hope mandate of the current administration.
” As the President of the NBBF, I have seen the various practical changes the current NSC leadership of Mallam Shehu Dikko and Hon Bukola Olopade, have brought into the country’s Sports and basketball have been enjoying their support, therefore it’s very easy for the NNPC to key into what they are doing to get Nigerian Sports working again “.

Aliyu Baba Shines with Six Goals in Five NNL Appearances for Sporting Lagos

Striker Aliyu Baba of Sporting Lagos, continues to court attention in the Nigeria National League (NNL) with his impressive goalscoring return, netting 6 times in five starts in the second division.
Aliyu, 21, scored a hattrick in a must-win away match against Solution FC on Sunday evening, taking his tally to 6 goals from just five starts.
The lagos-based club signed him from Mahanaim FC during mid-season transfer window, after it struggled to find the back of the net in the first stanza of the season.
Aliyu opened his Sporting account scoring a brace in a 3-2 away win over Abakaliki FC. He followed that with a goal against First Bank FC after coming from the bench.
The deadly striker then produced another stunning away performance, scoring a hattrick in the 3-3 away draw against Solution FC.
He delivered 6-goals in 9 total appearances (5-starts and 3 substitute apps) for the Lagos club, despite only joining them in March during the mid-season window.
This goalscoring prowess has now attracted many football followers and clubs in the country.
