The achievements of renowned humanitarian and business leader, Dr. (Chief) Mrs. Juliet Bolaji Akinmulero, have inspired widespread celebration — none more heartfelt than that of her son, Tolulope David Akinmulero, who has described her recent international and regional awards as “a proud moment for the family.”Within weeks, Dr. Akinmulero received two major honours — one at the House of Lords in London and another in Ogun State, Nigeria — recognising her global impact in humanitarian service and transformational leadership.

*Son Leads Family’s Tribute in London*At the 3rd Global Leadership Investment Summit and Peace Awards (GLISPA UK 2025), held inside the British Parliament, House of Lords, Dr. Akinmulero was decorated with the Distinguished Royal Mother of the Day Award and conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership and Governance.
The high-level summit, organised by the United International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC) in partnership with the Foreign Investment Network (FIN), Euroknowledge UK, and the American University of Peace and Governance (AUPG), USA, brought together global dignitaries including H.E. Mike Mbuvi Sonko, former Governor of Nairobi, Kenya; Hon. Likando Kalaluka, former Attorney General of Zambia; and HRH King Dr. Olusegun Aderemi JP, the Atayero of Aramoko Kingdom, who served as Royal Father of the Day.

Amid the distinguished gathering, her son Tolulope, a British-born American, stood proudly among the audience as his mother was honoured. Overwhelmed with emotion, he later said:

“I’m so proud of you, Mum. You truly deserve every award you’ve received and every one yet to come. You’re out of this world — the best mum ever. Seeing you recognised for all that you’ve done brings me so much joy, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you.”

In another touching remark, he added, “Seeing my mum honoured on such a global platform reminds me of the power of service and faith.”

Dr. Akinmulero, the Yeye Oba of Ayeka Kingdom in Ondo State, received the award for her

“leadership pedigree, professional excellence, and capacity-building prowess in transformational governance.”

In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude, saying:

“This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes. Every recognition is a reminder to lead with compassion and serve humanity with purpose.”

Also honoured at the same event was her elder brother, Chief Olawande Alex Oyebobola, the Akile of Ayeka Kingdom, who received a GLISPA Peace Award and an Honorary Doctorate in Leadership and Governance — a moment that underlined the family’s shared passion for service and leadership.

Honoured Again at Home Barely two weeks later, Dr. Akinmulero’s humanitarian journey was again celebrated in Nigeria at the 7th Southwest Legendary Awards (King’s Edition), held at JM Royal Haven, Shagamu, Ogun State, where she was named Woman of the Year (Humanitarian Service).

The annual awards honour individuals who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, innovation, and social impact across the Southwest.

In her remarks, she said:“I’m truly honoured to receive the Woman of the Year (Humanitarian) award from the Southwest Legendary Award. This recognition means so much — but more than anything, it’s a reminder that the work continues. To me, this award is not just an honour; it’s a challenge — to reach more lives, to serve with greater impact, and to keep showing up where it matters most.”

Her words drew a standing ovation, with guests describing her as “a model of integrity, humility, and consistent service.”*A Record of Global Impact

Earlier in the year, Dr. Akinmulero received the United Nations Outstanding Humanitarian Award in New York, presented by the Permanent Mission of Senegal to the United States, in recognition of her longstanding advocacy for women’s empowerment and humanitarian advancement.

She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of several care facilities in California, USA — including Divine Residential Group Home Corporation and Mercy Residential Home — both known for their compassionate, person-centred approach.

Plans are also underway to launch the Aderonke Akinmulero Memorial Foundation, in honour of her late daughter, Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Aderonke Akinmulero. The foundation will focus on education, vocational training, and youth mentorship, further extending her humanitarian legacy.

“Legacy of Leadership and Faith*Born into the Oyebobola royal family of Owo, Ondo State, Dr. Akinmulero’s life reflects a blend of royal heritage, international exposure, and deep compassion. Holding British-Nigerian citizenship and U.S. permanent residency, she continues to serve as a bridge of inspiration across borders.

From the United Nations Headquarters in New York to the House of Lords in Londonand the Southwest Legendary Awards in Ogun State, her story — as her son aptly put it — is “a testimony to the power of service and faith.”

As Dr. Akinmulero herself noted, “Awards are not destinations — they are reminders to serve, to give, and to keep believing in the power of good.”

Through her sustained humanitarian impact and the admiration of those closest to her, especially her son, Dr. (Chief) Bolaji Akinmulero continues to shine as one of Nigeria’s most inspiring global ambassadors — a woman whose leadership and compassion transcend generations.

In a strong affirmation of his administration’s vision for a technology-enabled public service, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has reiterated the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to building a world-class, digitally-driven, and citizen-centred workforce capable of driving inclusive and sustainable national development.

The President, represented by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, at the opening ceremony of the 57th International Conference and Exhibition of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) held in Abuja, noted that the Conference provides a vital platform for thought leaders, policymakers, and human resource professionals to examine and discuss the evolving dynamics of work under the theme, “Reimagining the New World of Work.”

President Tinubu commended the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria for its consistency and nearly six decades of professional excellence, ethical leadership, and dedication to human capital development in Nigeria. He acknowledged the Institute’s invaluable role in promoting professionalism and strengthening workforce governance across both public and private sectors.

Highlighting the Administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the President emphasized that “Nigeria’s greatest asset is not its oil or minerals, but its people.” He underscored key Federal Government initiatives such as the 3 Million Technical Talent Programme (3MTT) and the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP), designed to position Nigeria as a global hub for skilled digital professionals.

The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ongoing public service transformation through the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP25), which aims to achieve a fully digital and paperless civil service by 31st December, 2025.

He explained that the adoption of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution is a major milestone in enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public service operations.

In his welcome address, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir FCIPM, fnli, emphasized that the future of work will not necessarily reward the strongest or the smartest, but those courageous enough to remain human in a digital world. He described the conference as “not just another HR event, but a transformative movement that will echo through boardrooms, classrooms, and corridors of influence for years to come.”

Mallam Gobir reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to redefining workplace leadership and advancing professional excellence.
