The Chairman of De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI), Abuja Chapter, Comrade Solomon Momoh, has charged members to embrace renewed unity, deeper humanitarian service, and unwavering commitment to democratic values as the chapter ushered in 2026 with its Welcome Back Party themed “The Dawn of a New Saga.

Addressing distinguished members, elders, invited guests, and families at the February 14 gathering, in Abuja, the Chairman described the event as more than a ceremonial celebration, calling it a symbolic moment of renewal, resilience, and recommitment to the ideals that define the organisation.

According to him, the new year marks the beginning of a fresh chapter in DNKI’s collective journey — one rooted in brotherhood, legacy, loyalty, and love.

“This gathering is not just to mark another calendar year,” Momoh said. “It represents the rebirth of our shared commitment to unity and service. Through challenges and triumphs, DNKI Abuja Chapter has remained a symbol of solidarity and humanitarian service.”

He commended members who attended with their families, noting that their presence reflects the strength and enduring spirit of the chapter.

Comrade  Momoh urged members to keep “all hands on deck” in extending support to vulnerable families and communities, especially in challenging times.

Reaffirming DNKI’s humanitarian mandate, the Chairman stressed that service to humanity must remain the chapter’s watchword, while compassion continues to guide its actions in 2026.

Momoh further called on members to align their humanitarian efforts with national development objectives, particularly in support of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

He emphasized that while government bears primary responsibility for development, civic organisations like DNKI play a critical complementary role in reducing hardship and strengthening hope at the grassroots level.

On national democratic issues, the Chairman used the platform to express concern over aspects of the proposed Electoral Amendment Bill.

Comrade  Momoh appealed to lawmakers to carefully review any clauses that may undermine the collective will of voters or create potential loopholes for electoral manipulation.

“Nigeria’s democracy thrives on the confidence of its people,” he stated.

“The elected cannot and must not be greater than the will of the electorate. Any action that suggests votes may not count risks eroding public trust in our electoral process.”

As the country prepares for the 2027 general elections, Momoh urged lawmakers to act with patriotism and fairness to safeguard credible elections.

He commended members of the House of Representatives for supporting provisions that mandate real-time electronic transmission of election results, describing such measures as critical to transparency, accountability, and public confidence.

Concluding his address, the Chairman reminded members that the dawn of a new saga demands renewed responsibility. He called on the chapter to build a stronger organisation, foster a stronger community, and contribute to a stronger Nigeria.

The evening ended on a celebratory note as members raised a toast to survival in difficult times, unbreakable unity, and a future defined by resilience and hope.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta, Chief Victor Ogba has advised the former governor of Kaduna state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai to present himself to DSS for interrogations.

NAN reports that the former Kaduna state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai recently alleged that DSS attempted to arrest him at the airport on arrival from Cairo.

Ogba said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja.

He urged the former Kaduna state governor to humble himself and a law-abiding citizen of Nigeria and present himself to the DSS.

“I don’t see anything wrong in El-Rufai making himself available to the police or DSS for interrogations if he is truly clean as he claims.

“He should stop dramatizing the whole scenario by raising false alarms over constitutional matters, arrest is constitutional and no one is above the law,” he said.

Ogba, who expressed confidence in the security expertise of the DSS, said that the seizure of El-Rufai’s passport may have followed internal watch-list procedures.

According to him, Section 2 of the DSS instrument regulation, which is in compliance with the NSA Act, gives the DSS the power to seize passports of persons on the watch list.

Ogba therefore urged El-Rufai to go and find out why his passport was seized and at the same time clear himself.

The APC chieftain who reiterated calls for constructive criticism, warned against deliberate mischievous acts to malign the government of the day.
