Siasia Commends UNESCO Promises to Raise Players for 2026 World Cup

Former Under 23 coach and Super Eagles striker, Samson Siasia has commended UNESCO for celebrating world Sport day of peace and development with some school children in Abuja.

UNESCO on April 6 celebrated the world sport day with over 300 school children in Abuja.

Siasia who spoke to Journalist in Abuja on Wednesday commended the gesture from UNESCO and promised to scout for talents across Nigeria who will form the bulk of the team that will represent Nigeria at the 2026 World cup.

“I must commend UNESCO for celebrating the world Sport day of peace and development with the real raw talents. This is the best way to spot talents in Nigeria by giving everyone the opportunity to showcase their potentials. We have taken it upon us, I mean the USA 94 squad to comb the length and breadth of Nigeria in search for footballers who we shall groom before the 2026 world cup”.Siasia stated.

We have been doing a lot with the Sia-one Academy but now it is time to give back and with Nigerians on our side the feature is bright”. He concluded.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) last Saturday, April 6th celebrated the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace across the world in Abuja.

The over 300 School children took part in three sports that include; badminton, basketball and gymnastics.
