Abia Warriors Acting Chairman Sets To Reactivate Youth Teams

The Acting Chairman of Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia Mr Innocent Oweh has assured the technical crews of both the youth and Academy teams of his determination to reactivate the teams and make them more vibrant .
The Chairman gave the assurance on Tuesday while addressing the technical crew and backroom staff of the teams. The meeting was held at the club’s Secretariat in Umuahia.
The Chairman said that the Abia Warriors youth team which was a driving force in the sustainability of the team since it gained promotion to the Premiership in 2014, later went moribund and was only existing in names.
“our youth programs was a force that produced the like of Chisom Chikatara, Shedrack Asiegbu, Goodluck Ozioma among others later went moribund because of the various factors that became an impediment for the continual actualization of dreams”. He however revealed his intention of ensuring that the teams bounce back to reckoning, is unwavering. He said the teams will participate in both the NLO Division 1 League next season , and the next NPFL Laliga U. 15 Tourney effectively.
He appreciated the Coaches for remaining committed to the development of Youths in the state, saying that history will always remember them. He advised them to comb the nooks and crannies of the state to identify the good players, and give them a platform to exhibit their talents. He remained optimistic that if properly harness, that such players would turn out to make the country proud in future.
He promised to treat all their submissions with dispatched.
The Chairman further revealed that the teams would commence their programs immediately the senior team resume in the first week of July.

Aliyu Baba Shines with Six Goals in Five NNL Appearances for Sporting Lagos

Striker Aliyu Baba of Sporting Lagos, continues to court attention in the Nigeria National League (NNL) with his impressive goalscoring return, netting 6 times in five starts in the second division.
Aliyu, 21, scored a hattrick in a must-win away match against Solution FC on Sunday evening, taking his tally to 6 goals from just five starts.
The lagos-based club signed him from Mahanaim FC during mid-season transfer window, after it struggled to find the back of the net in the first stanza of the season.
Aliyu opened his Sporting account scoring a brace in a 3-2 away win over Abakaliki FC. He followed that with a goal against First Bank FC after coming from the bench.
The deadly striker then produced another stunning away performance, scoring a hattrick in the 3-3 away draw against Solution FC.
He delivered 6-goals in 9 total appearances (5-starts and 3 substitute apps) for the Lagos club, despite only joining them in March during the mid-season window.
This goalscoring prowess has now attracted many football followers and clubs in the country.
