Coalition of Civil Societies for Peace and Good Governance has appealed to faceless groups to stay away from the management of the Niger Delta Power Holdings Company, NDPHC, or face the wrath of Nigeria security agencies.

This followed criticisms over the appointment of Engr. Jenifer Adighije as the managing director of the federal government electricity company by some groups.

Reacting to such criticisms, the Coalition of Civil Societies for Peace and Good Governance urged Nigerians to see Mrs Adighije’s appointment as an answered call for gender integration in governance in Nigeria in a critical sector that is very important to national development.

A statement sign by the national secretary of the coalition, Blessing Allie, however urged the newly appointed executives of the company to put in their best to ensure additional values to the nation’s economy through the power company.

“We appeal to the newly appointed executive members to unite towards adding value to the economy.

“We are aware of the credible credentials of the managing director both nationally and internationally, hence enemies of national development should search for another agency.

“Finally, we appeal to Nigeria civil societies to engage themselves in productive ventures capable of adding value to themselves and Nigeria as a whole,” the statement said.
