All Stars Football Invitational Tournament commences in Grand style in Abuja

…As All Stars Abuja defeats Lugbe All Stars 2-0 in the opening Game.

It was a glamours and explosive experienced at the Main bowl Moshood Abiola National Stadium of Abuja at 3rd editions of the All Stars Football Invitational Tournament where 16 teams are currently fighting for honour.


Array of veterans footballers, coaches, past veterans, are tackling each others as yearly football event commenced in grande Style.
This year’s Tournament  started on Saturday, 15th day of July 2023 to September 2023, every Saturday.

In the day 1 of the championship, four matches played out of which three Victory, and one draw as total number of 9 goals recorded. 


In the tournament’s Opening game, the defending champions, the Abuja All Stars International Football Club on Saturday defeated  Lugbe All Stars FC 2-0 to extend it’s suprimacy.


Player with Jersey number 15 Seun Oyeniyi  scored the first goal of the tournament and gave his team, Abuja All Stars International FC the lead in 7th minutes of the encounter 1-0.


Lugbe All Stars  FC  gave a very good of account itself, fought throughout the gave but all their effort yielded no result as defending champions stood their ground to ensure their effort remain futile.

To add salt to  the existing injury of  All Stars FC Lugbe, the substitute Stanley Ike, scored in the 58 minutes to extend the lead to 2-0 as the match ended two goals to nil in favour Abuja All Stars FC. 


Also in the second game of the day, corporate kicker sports club CKSC,  defeated the new commer, All Stars Jabi 3 goals to 2.


In 5th minutes Ovie Nisa Nutata gave CKSC the lead while Nnakenyi Kingsley equalized in the 31 minutes to make it 1-1.


In  the 37 Ovie Nisa Nutata scored from the spot kick to take lead again making it 2-1,  as Abili Obinna score his first goal of Tournament for  CKSC, in the 41st minutes to make it 3-1.


The resilient Jabi All Stars put one back courtesy of Nnakenyi Kingsley to make it 3-2 in the 45 minutes, as game ended in favour of  CKSC.


The third game of the day between Unity Sports Foundation USF and Apo Fitness Football club ended in Goalless.


While the last game of the day between between Nyanya All Stars and Likeminds All Stars ended in favour of Nyanya All Stars FC 2-0.


The goal were score by Alele Sunday in the 24 minutes as Yakubu Daniel scored the second goal in the 35 Minutes as game ended 2-0 in favour of Nyanya All Stars.


However, other matches will come up come Saturday where player will be gather again to continue the Tournament.

Speaker House Reps, Abbas, Others Thumbs NFF President Over NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel and New Training Pitches

…Says It Will Boost Nigeria’s Economy

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has commended the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, for initiating the NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel and new training pitches, describing it as a transformational project that will boost Nigeria’s economy.


Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, Speaker Abbas praised the initiative and pledged the National Assembly’s full support.


 “This is a noble project, and the National Assembly will give it full support. I congratulate the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation, and I thank FIFA for agreeing to fund this project,” he stated while cutting the ceremonial tape.


He also assured the House of Representatives’ support for the visionary leadership of Engineer Ibrahim Musa Gusau and the NFF in other key areas where assistance is required.

Leading the FIFA delegation, Gelson Fernandes (Deputy Chief Member Associations Officer/Regional Director, Africa) reiterated FIFA’s commitment to funding the project, emphasizing that infrastructure development has been a priority since the tenure of President Gianni Infantino began.

Expressing his excitement, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau stated that the hostel and training pitches will serve all Nigerian national teams, leagues, and academies.


“Indeed, my joy knows no bounds. From the day my Executive Committee and I were sworn into office in Benin City on Friday, 30th September 2022, I was determined to push this project forward as a legacy for Nigerian football.
“For sustained success, we must provide a conducive environment, infrastructure, equipment, and support systems that enable players and officials to perform at their best.

“Building a players’ hostel and having new training pitches will not only enhance team management but also reduce costs, allowing us to invest more in grassroots development programs.”
Several dignitaries present at the event applauded Gusau’s leadership, determination, and commitment to football development in Nigeria.


The event was well attended by local and international stakeholders, including sports enthusiasts, who witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony of the NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel and Training Pitches.

In addition to the hostel, the project includes:Two new training pitches (one synthetic and one natural grass). Reconstruction of the existing synthetic pitch.


Also, Spectators’ sitting terraces with 1,838 seats.Two dressing rooms for players, each accommodating 27 players.Two dressing rooms for officials.

The construction is expected to last 24 months and is fully funded by FIFA under its FIFA Forward 3.0 programme.
