The leadership of Nollywood’s premier guild, Association of Movie ProducersNigeria, (AMP) has called out the founding fathers of the association for special recognition and appreciation.

This is in commemoration of their 25 years anniversary which came upon the 6th of September 2021.
According to the president of the Association, Ms. Peace Anyiam Osigwe MFR, the association has made enormous progress in the last 25 years and the input of these founding fathers cannot be overemphasised.

In her words, “We cannot forget the labour of love and sacrifice of these eminent pioneers of our guild (both dead and alive), leading to the registration of AMP on the 6th of September 1996. People like late Amaka Igwe, late Eddie Ugwoma, Olorogun Zeb Ejiro MON, Joe Dudun, etc.

The seed these illustrious Nigerians sowed 25 years ago has yielded multiple fruits today and we are highly grateful to them and many others who played strategic roles in the early development of the association.

Today, we have over 80% of the active movie producers in Nigeria registered under this umbrella, with the attendant local and international alliances, partnerships and recognition, the association has really evolved.

As part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations, we shall be having a night of honor, to honor a filmmaker, the man who has given AMP his time, finance, love, and has been a patron of our association for 15years.

This nite is to honor Andy Boyo as the longest-serving Patron of AMP on the 17th of October, this is also the launch of the AMP Creative  Cooperative.

The celebration of the 25th Anniversary will be in May next year, we shall also ensure that these founding fathers are immortalised in the annals of Nollywood’s history among several other activities”

The Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Nigeria is the umbrella body for all movie producers in Nigeria’s Nollywood.
