A group under the aegis of Renewed All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Council has accused the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nigerian Shippers Council, Barrister Pius Akuta of a various infractions including Anti-Party activities, corruption and double loyalty.

The group in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Abubakar Surajo Funtua and made available to journalists in Abuja also alleged that Barr. Akuta is hostile to the Tinubu administration especially as his activities in the Nigerian Shippers Council are directly parrarel to the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President. For instance, the indiscriminate sacking of staff in Shippers Council was intentionally meant to embarrass the President.

According to the statement, the CEO has also been accused of paying allegiance to the former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami whom he is secretly funding and using taxpayers money to sponsor his political interest including the new Coalition including the new Coalition against the APC.

The APC Youth Council further alleged that the Barr. Pius Akuta is spuriously involved in contract and employment racketeering, especially to his cronies in defiance to the Procurement Act 2007 and Federal Character.

They youth group therefore, call on the National Chairman and Benue State chapter of the APC to probe and dismiss Pius Akuta from the ranks of the APC.

The group insisted that people like Barrister Pius Akuta are moles that must be fished out ahead of the 2027 general elections if the APC must maintain its dominant position.

“We have it on good authority that the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Shippers Council, Barr. Pius Akuta is working at cross purposes with the mission and vision of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.

“His loyalty lies squarely with Abubakar Malami, a former AGF under the Buhari administration not with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has given him a very strategic position in his administration. It’s on record that he has even bought a private jet for Abubakar Malami whom he sees as a mentor.

“The level of corruption currently ongoing in Shippers Council under the watch of Akuta oozes with a demonic stench. Such a person has no place in the renewed hope agenda of the current administration which is built on a strong anti-corruption ideology.

“Akuta who nurtures a secret ambition to run for Governor of Benue State under the new Coalition he is sponsoring through Malami awards 70% of contracts in Shippers to his cronies with strict instructions to stash away the proceeds in his secret accounts to be used for campaigns. This is unacceptable and we cannot fold our hands and watch an anti-party agent wreck havoc on our party undetected.

“By massively sacking legitmate staff members, Akuta sided with the opposition to embarrass Mr. President. He has gone ahead to carry out secret recruitment basedo on a cash-and-cardy basis and a patronage of his cronies under the new Coalition. This is preposterous and unacceptable.

“Based on these and many other underhand dealings of Barr. Pius Akuta, we call on the National Chairman of APC and the State Chairman to act immediately and effect his expulsion from the party and sack from the position he is enjoying courtesy of the party.his immediate expulsion from the APC.

“In investigating Akuta, there must be an audit of the contracts unders s
Shippers Council to give Nigerians a true picture of the extent of damage Akuta has done. The APC does not need excess inherited baggages and anybody who is not working in synergy with Mr. President must be shown the way out”, the release concluded.
