Army Chiefs Commend NYSC on Moral, Entrepreneurship Training for Corps Members

The Nigerian Army School of Military Engineering (NASME), Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST) and Headquarters, 401 Special Forces Brigade, all in Makurdi, Benue State, have poured encomiums on the Managers of NYSC for grooming Youth Corps Members for leadership roles and also exposing them to entrepreneurship training in order to become self-employed.


The Commandant of NASME, Major General Adams Guni Audu, Rector, NACEST, Major General AP Oguntola and Commander, 401 Special Forces, Brigadier General A Rabiu gave the commendation on Friday when the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed paid them separate courtesy visits in their offices.


Major General Guni described NYSC as one of the major sources of manpower in NASME, adding that the school would consolidate on his efforts by providing more serene environment for the Corps Members to contribute their quota to the development of NASME, Benue State and the nation at large.


He added that the school is one of the largest employer of Corps Members in Benue State because of their rich talents as graduates in various disciplines.


In his remarks, Major General Oguntola specifically thanked General Ahmed for serving as a good ambassador of the Nigerian Army by improving the welfare and security of all Corps Members.
He said NACEST, which specializes on research, development and innovation has being in strong partnership with NYSC Benue State Secretariat on entrepreneurship training for mutual benefits.


Similarly, the Brigade Commander, 401 Special Forces, Makurdi, Brigadier General A Rabiu also lauded the cordial relationship between the Brigade and NYSC Benue State Secretariat.


He added that General Ahmed’s visit to the Brigade Headquarters will scale up the synergy between the two agencies.
“We will continue to protect the Corps Members and also provide conducive environments for them”, he said.


Speaking earlier, Brigadier General Ahmed appreciated the immense support being rendered for NYSC Benue State Secretariat by the Army Generals through adequate deployment of physical instructors to the Orientation Camp in Wannune, provision of security for Corps Members, improved welfare, accommodation  among others.
He thereafter solicited for more assistance from the Army Generals for NYSC Benue State Secretariat.

AUDA-NEPAD CEO Highlights Collaboration as Catalyst for Africa’s Economic Competitiveness

The Chief Executive Officer and National Coordinator of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, has called for stronger public-private partnerships to boost Africa’s global competitiveness.

Speaking at the High-Level Business Forum 2025 organised by the NEPAD Business Group Nigeria in Lagos, Hon. Abdullahi said Africa’s transformation will be driven by enterprise, not aid.

He urged governments to create enabling environments that foster innovation, industrial growth, and sustainable development.

He reaffirmed AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria’s commitment to working with private sector actors and development partners to deliver key initiatives in agriculture, ICT, manufacturing, and renewable energy under the AU Agenda 2063 framework.

The event brought together top business and policy leaders, including representatives from the African Business Roundtable, the Bank of Industry, the Africa Finance Corporation, and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, among others.
